hey all, my buddy is our youth groups worship leader, and him and the rest of our churches worship leaders were invited up to a convention in chicago, and the church or whoever was running it set up a special screening for everyone attending of superman returns. my friend is a massive superman freak and has been like dying to see this, i mean like he has the countdown thing going on his desktop and has the day asked off work so he can camp outside the theatre just for fun. but anyway this was like a huge suprise thing, he had no clue they were going to show the movie. so its his favorite movie he has ever seen, superman 1-2 were his fav. before that. our churches main 2 worship leaders are not superman fans, yet both said its the best movie they have ever seen. i only talked to him for about 2 mins, so this is all i know as of now, but il see him at church this morning (its 12:55 a.m.) and find out more, basically since i dont want it ruined for me im only really gonna ask if theres any stupid parts that make supes look weak or something, cuz im praying theres a darn good explanation to why hes falling down in the air, i mean from my limited knowledge of superman, that plane hitting him or w/e wouldnt phase him, and thats what it looks like to me happens in the trailer. so anyway i just wanted to tell everyone that all 3 guys loved it. and i cant wait to see it myself. plus i just read the thread were roeper said it was just good or w/e so i decided i needed to inspire more hope. roeper sucks

I won't spoil it for you, but there is a good explanation for his falling. Don't worry, nothing stupid.

Roeper is OK, and he liked it so that's good (he and Ebert are the most famous critics so it helps with general fans.

It's times like these that I wish I worked at a movie theater. Apparently, employees get to see the movie before it comes out.... probably the night before. That would be awesome to get that opportunity. But I would rather see it with everyone else and be a part of the whooping and cheering... with terrific seats of course.

I'm gonna call my ex who works at a theater and see what she knows. She's supposed to get me the official poster, and maybe I can hook up some other sweet swag. She did get me an original Batman Begins poster that hangs proudly in my living room right now.

well i talked to him today and hes freaking nutz, like i didnt ask for any spoilers, but yah he said the reason supes is falling is awesome, and he said there isnt a single part in the movie where your like "why didnt superman just punch him" or "why didnt he just use his cold breath", oh he said one part that is kinda dumb, but as in that character is stupid, is when the guy is unloading the gatling gun on supes and he just keeps walking forward (as seen in preview) and after the gatling gun runs out of ammo, he pulls a pistol out, so yah hes an idiot, cuz u know if the gatling guns full round didnt take him out u know ur little 9 mml is going to. im sorry that i pissed some ppl off by making this thread, my point in it was just to tell people that i know someone 3 ppl who saw it and they all said it was amazing! i know i like to hear good reviews about movies im anticipating. oh he also said (i havent seen superman 2, im going to this thursday though anyway) at the end up supes 2 lex isnt rich or something, and that he gets rich in this movie at the beginning and how he does it is awesome

My girlfriend just saw it a Military Base where Brandon Routh and his Dad and Mom and his brother were there for the screening...it was free for all military families, first come first serve until it was full...its a huge auditorium but the sound was too low and there were lots of kids...this is why i didn't want to go...but she has nothing but good things to say about it...and can't wait till next week to see it again.
Routh did a questionare before screening and said that this was the largest audience he's shown it to...but this was the first in 40 planned screening at other military bases across the nation.
She said that Routh's Superman was great...both as clark and when in tights...most of the laughs go to Clark and Jimmy...she said Bosworth's Lois Lane was just okay...Spacey as Lex was a very different portrayal from Gene Hackmans...Supes uses all his powers...Parker Posey was forgettable...but if you already liker her as an actress you'll like her...Kal Penn was barely in it...James Masden was really good in his role, Perry White she's undecided on...(forgive her she has only just gotten started on Supes old and new)...she liked the plane sequence the best in the movie...I guess those reshoots paid off...Everyone applauded throughout the movie and at the end and seemed to love it. Umm...oh, they don't explain why young kent wears glasses...and we should just assume its to further hide his abilities at that age. Hugh Jackman is not in it for you few believers left out there...the scene from Krypton from the teaser trailer was cut...the bullet in the eye was still in the movie for you skeptics who thought that after the mixed reaction from when that was first revealed that it'd be cut. The flying was done really well and looked good...the kid wasn't annoying. Sorry this is all over the place but hopefully you can keep up...the music was decent she said but she's no critic...however she liked X3's score better...but the old superman theme music was still as good as it was 20 some odd years ago and works in the movie (obviously)
I don't know...what else to ask...does anyone wanna know something or is there a user reaction thread yet?
