Ask her how the movie opens up. Is there a curtain that opens to a little boy reading a comic? WHat is the prologue before the credits?

no it doesn't open up like that but the credits are similar to STM with the music and everything.

Spoilers I guess
My girlfriend just saw it a Military Base where Brandon Routh and his Dad and Mom and his brother were there for the screening...it was free for all military families, first come first serve until it was full...its a huge auditorium but the sound was too low and there were lots of kids...this is why i didn't want to go...but she has nothing but good things to say about it...and can't wait till next week to see it again.
Routh did a questionare before screening and said that this was the largest audience he's shown it to...but this was the first in 40 planned screening at other military bases across the nation.
She said that Routh's Superman was great...both as clark and when in tights...most of the laughs go to Clark and Jimmy...she said Bosworth's Lois Lane was just okay...Spacey as Lex was a very different portrayal from Gene Hackmans...Supes uses all his powers...Parker Posey was forgettable...but if you already liker her as an actress you'll like her...Kal Penn was barely in it...James Masden was really good in his role, Perry White she's undecided on...(forgive her she has only just gotten started on Supes old and new)...she liked the plane sequence the best in the movie...I guess those reshoots paid off...Everyone applauded throughout the movie and at the end and seemed to love it. Umm...oh, they don't explain why young kent wears glasses...and we should just assume its to further hide his abilities at that age. Hugh Jackman is not in it for you few believers left out there...the scene from Krypton from the teaser trailer was cut...the bullet in the eye was still in the movie for you skeptics who thought that after the mixed reaction from when that was first revealed that it'd be cut. The flying was done really well and looked good...the kid wasn't annoying. Sorry this is all over the place but hopefully you can keep up...the music was decent she said but she's no critic...however she liked X3's score better...but the old superman theme music was still as good as it was 20 some odd years ago and works in the movie (obviously)
I don't know...what else to ask...does anyone wanna know something or is there a user reaction thread yet?

MIne is next sunday. I cant wait.

the opening crawl you mean? what's that in this movie?

Was Superman conscious when Lois presumably whispered to him about Jason in the hospital?

she says no

So then Superman doesn't really know that Jason is his son? Was there any part in the movie where Superman might have had reason to believe that Jason is not Richard's?

And Lois and Richard are still engaged, eh? Cool.

Thanks so much for the answers.

Yes, there is little doubt once you see the movie. And as far as Superman being awake, well he seemed to disappear right after Lois leaves so I think he heard what she wispered, cause if you watch close it almost looks like he smiles. Oh and Superman it the ultimate peeping tom.

I don't want to give too many spoilers but if you really want to know something you can pm me and I will let you know.

Thank you very much for the added insight, Strange. Maybe he did hear her indeed. :) Can't wait to see the movie myself.

I appreciate the fact that those who have seen it are so kind as to share.

Over on SH, they are saying:
well....Lois's son IS Superman's son....at the end Superman gives his son the same speach Jor-El gave to him...."you'll always be different, you'll never be alone, etc"...

There are some lines popping up on the screen, right after the firm logo's has come to pass... 6 lines that tells the backstory... and than something else happens, and THEN the credits begin.

Ok, you lost me there. I have no idea what you mean. Please forgive me, but please elaborate.
Of course... The warner bros. DC & Legend logo pops on the screen.. then turns to black... 6 lines comes up on the black screen (in blue similar to star wars's "A long time ago...") explaining the back story of the character. It's short, clean and directly to the point (SPOILER'S BELOW!):

"On the doomed planet Krypton, a wise scientist placed his infant son into a spacecraft and launched him to Earth.

Raised by a kind farmer and his wife, the boy grew up to become Earth's greatest protector... Superman.

But when astronomers discovered the distant remains of his home world, Superman disappeared."

Than we open up on a near shot of the beautiful surface of Krypton, and then it starts to zoom out...and out... and out, until it's a small dot on the screen. The RED sun is seen exploding, right next to the planet...(yes we actually see a REmake of the planet exploding).. large pieces of the planet, plus KRYPTONITE, is seen coming our way (towards the screen), and as it passes us (the viewers), the camera turns 180 degrees, and we start flying fast through space, AND THEN, my friend.. the beautiful classic blue credits comes at us with the Williams score blasting through the speakers, for the first time in 20 years!!!:)

eh, no big deal to me. lots of movies have a written text opening scenes(mask of zorro is the only one that comes to mind right now but i know there are more out there) to introduce us to the backstory.

i don't think it's that bad of an idea, although it woulda been nice if singer had kept in the return to krypton sequence, but if he thinks it's better off without it, then i'll trust his decision.

The DC logo flahes up but it also looks like a picture or comic of Superman is flahed quickly, not like Marvels but just one picture.
