Those are all great posters but I don't understand why the artists always make them appear worn out or grindhousey. It kind of annoys me. They'd look just as good without it.

Some of those are really clever. I like the Friday the 13th one where Jason's mask is made out of every weapon he's used to kill someone with and the Alien one with human, android and xenomorph blood dripping down.

Probably because they don't think posters have the same value they used to before television? Plus you're paying people for extra hours instead of copying and pasting stock promo images for several promotional tools.
