You're going to love it. Especialliy you love Horror comedies.Just got Fright Night from Netflix. I've been hearing about this thing since I was 10 years old but know next to nothing about it except the basic premise. Should be interesting.![]()
Personally, think the only good thing about Fright Night 2 is that John Gries played another Werewolf; apart from that I can pretty much take it or leave it.
more like rear window with vampires.
Except that Disturbia's basic premise is taken directly from Rear Window - Person spying on neighbor witnesses neighbor murder someone. Whether they live in an apartment or a suburban house is meaningless window dressing.
Obligatory eyeroll smiley since you seem to like it so well - :classic rolleyes
Except that "meaningless window dressing" is one of the things that sets the 2 films apart, and Fright Night 2011 does, unmistakenly, have a closer feel in tone and dark comedy of that of Disturbia, not Rear Window. Besides the basic premise, I wouldn't say Disturbia has the same tone and overall feel as Rear Window. Would you?
John Gries only played the guy who turns into a Wolfman in the Monster Squad aside from a few special/make-up effects that he wore as he was transforming he didn't actually get to wear the whole Wolfman costume it was instead wore by stunt performer Carl Thibault.
I thought FN2 was ok. Julie Carmen was sexy. My main problem was that the way she played the character it seemed like she wanted everyone to guess that she was a vampire. Not much subtley. Chris Sarandon in the first film didn't play Jerry Dandrige that way. He just came off as a sexy, single guy. He wasn't advertising that he was a vampire. Julie Carmen was. I mean just look at the clothes she wears in the film. Now look at how Sarandon dressed in FN1. Carmen wears dark colored, tight seductive dresses and sometimes a weird hat to make her seem eccentric, exotic & maybe European. Sarandon just wore sweaters & jeans for the most part. He seemed like he was trying to blend in and not be noticed(at least, not in any suspicious way).
