Season 1 was mostly freak of the week stuff so I could see why it was boring. Most of season 2 and all of season 3 have been fantastic though.

I was hooked by Fringe from episode 1. To me, it was the 21st century version of the X-Files, and filled that much needed gap. I was actually resistant to the other universe story line. But damned if they didn't do that story awesomely and change my mind.
