I don't know if this has been discussed before:
I watched X3 the other day, and I'm 110% sure that it's daytime when Magneto moves the bridge.
But just as the bridge is at Alcatraz it's night/dark... Eh? what the...? We also gets an overview of the island, where we are over the clouds, and theres also dark.
I'm confused... Is there some explanation to that?

yes, just another error the director did.

yes..this conflict has been brought up many times...check out the deleted scene of Jean senses scared girl.

This is a big mistake of the direction/edition. Someone that makes that kind of mistakes doesn't deserve to direct another x-men movie, in my opinion.

The sun was setting during the bridge scene, and all the cars had headlights on in the early parts of the scene (despite people saying that they didn't have headlights on, THEY DID). So it didn't go from day to night because of a mistake, but because editing made the change more sudden.

It wasn't an 'error', it was poor editing. It could have been fixed by darkening the previous scenes a little more, but they never fixed it, even on the DVD.

Whoever made it, director, editor, whoever, it's still an error.

the transition from day to night is a deleted Scene
(Jean senses a scared little girl)

Personally Magneto should had just dropped the bridge on the building, problem solved. No need to send all those mutant soldiers to get rid of one mutant

Must we go over this all over again?

The bridge was supposed to be balanced on either side of the bay. If it were moved forward to be dropped on the building the other end would be in the water (so it couldn't be an escape route later on!). And Magneto's plan was to seize control of the cure (as stated clearly in the forest) and the cure was in the building so therefore he wouldn't be smashing the building down on it. Also, crushing the building would be no guarantee that Leech, Rao and Worthington were dead.

The criticism of why didn't he drop the bridge on the building is not a valid one.

it wasnt an error. The sun was setting when he dropped it..Would've made so much more sense if they kept the Jean and little girl scene in....seriously why was this scene taken out i dont get it at al!!??!?!

That wouldn't have worked either.

The bridge is too narrow to destroy the entire facility. Only one small portion of it would be taken out.

The bridge is like this wide: =
Alcatraz is like this wide:

Dropping the bridge on the facility wouldn't have done anything, as well as like X-Maniac said, it would have plopped the bridge into the bay so that the mutants didn't have their escape route.
