So many stupid things in this sentence.

1. Do you really think its Ratner who is shortining it? Why would he??? He loves the Xmen as a comic and a franchise, and wants to do the best possible job. Its FOX! DONT BLAME RATNER!

2. X1 was 104 minutes, and it was a Singer film. You, uh, want to explain that one?

2. - because it was the first movie in the trilogy, with less characters and less of an overall plot and a much smaller budget...it was essentially an introduction to the x-men universe...you will notice that in X-men United that Singer introduced more characters, while having a more involved plot and the movie WAS over two hours... now in X-men last stand you have plot points from the previous movies to resolve, the story of Last Stand itself, about 6 more characters than the previous films to explore and the largest budget of the three and yet oddly the shortest running time of the three...

You forgot to say that X3 will have a MUCH faster pace than the previous movies. Which means that there will be time to lay out all those and more.

Yeah well.. with the Fantastic-4 running time, it better be!

But we already know X3 will be a lot better than X1!!!

Again with an already established universe, already developed plot points and the largest budget of the three, that is not really saying that much of Ratner, Penn/Kinberg or for that matter Fox...it SHOULD be the best of the three

so basically it will be a video montage?

How do you figure that? Do you know what a faster pace means? A faster pace implies that the movie does not dwell on anything specific for very long because it wants to cover more ground as fast as it can.

Let's take a look at it practically:

You have 10 emotional scenes. Movie A has 30 minutes to cover those 10 scenes. Movie B has 10 minutes to cover those scenes. Which one has more time to focus on those 10 scenes? I guarantee you that Movie B will have a faster pace because IT HAS TO. It's trying to cover the same amount of ground in less time.

No, I don't. At this point.

I don't want Cyclops, Xavier and Psylocke to die. I don't want Xavier to appear in another body at the end of the movie. Unless it's Onslaught. I don't like the running time.

this is ******ed..... RATNER IS WINNING?

If I love what Ratner does, I would like him to come back.

Sorry, but as much as I love the previous movies, I may just like this one even better (aside from a few major flaws), if the trailers and spots indicate.

Psylocke dies???

Dunno for sure. This thread was previously named "Why does they kill Psylocke off??". I just read the topic and posted a quick bitter note. I don't want to be completely spoiled.

GTFO OF X-MEN RATNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Hey, if this movie truely does fail maybe maybe not, atleast we got Wolverine and Magneto's movies to hope for the best for.

This is purely assumption, we hardly know anything yet. Whoever said this poll was two weeks early was right . . . No one has seen the film and is hardly ready to make any judgment thus far.

Besides, the situation facing Brett Ratner, is hardly the same one Singer faced. Ratner has had far less involvement and voice in the overall production of this film in comparison to Singer—it’s been stated by Kinberg and Penn that the studio pretty much determined the direction in which this film was going to go . . . Ratner signed on a couple of months before principal photography and simply shot the picture.
