They nailed him once(though few remaining at WB are still around who can remeber just how they pulled it off). And yes, SR will end up being far less of a financial hit than GL is likely to be. SR may have eventually broke even. I doubt GL will...ever. It's a larger version of Speed Racer(another film that will never see the light of profitability).

Batman of the comics is many things. It just irks ne somewhat when people say stuff like this because it's dismissive. Also, when adapting from one medium to another you'll have certain changes to fit film. I don't want a direct translation of the comic; I want to feel the director's hand.

Fine, I don't pretend to be an authority on DC characters. But those two movies(STM & BB) were good enough to actually get me to like 2 characters that I otherwise never cared about. THAT'S the kind of nailing I mean. And if they got me interested, likely others who never liked the 2 did so as well. That's an accomplishment and I applauded them for it.

You mean with the muscles and all? Maybe not, but they sure came pretty darn close with the first Superman films.

if DC wanted to make a shed load of money then they should make the justice league movie. they don't have to go the marvel route with introducing the heroes in solo movies, everyone knows;

but the 'big 3' are recognised world wide. just make the justice league movie already, if the movie is a success THEN spin off the solo movies.

Despite DC's best efforts to bury the character, I'd put Captain Marvel in the same category as Flash, GL and Aquaman.

CM was at one point the biggest comic book character in the world. Elvis wore a costume based on his outfit, The Beatles paid tribute to him in both film and music, and "Shazam!" is a meme in American culture.

i dont understand why people think if GL failed then everything else will fail. GL failed cuz it was poorly executed, whether it was because of studios interfering or w/e. doesnt mean a flash movie would fail or something else would. If marvel can survive all the garbage films they put out in the past i dont see why they wont proceed with their other superhero films as well.

Forget the passion, more like direction, you have a director not 'directors.' Faith is important, when you say that "hardle anyone will know" a character I can tell you that's false. JLU has been around for the last decade maybe less, yet most of the characters are known. John Stewart is a prime example, when he first came out most fans were pissed at the fact that neither Hal Jordan or Kyle Rayner were used, now when GL came out everyone was asking if GL was black and where was he. Blade was another unknown character unless you read the comics, David Goyer wrote the script and the movie was awesome, now he's the guy who reintroduced Batman with Nolan's help.

I agree that they should do JL movie, but how can they sure that they won't mess it up like SR and GL?

CM is the reason why Superman books sold. The moment you knew that they were going to duke it out, flocks of fans would buy the books. Hell, Kingdom Come has them fighting, it is impossible to pass such opportunity.

He's always published under the name SHAZAM!, which just confuses people and makes them think that's his name. And to be honest, Shazam is a stupid super-hero name. It works great for the wizard, but not so much for a guy in red tights and a cape. He really needs to get the rights to his name back. Unfortunately for DC, Marvel's intent on squatting on that name until the end of time, regardless of how poorly Captain Mar-Vell and all his successors have performed sales wise. Has any version of Marvel Comics' Captain Marvel ever lasted for more than two years as a published title before being cancelled? Seriously, enough is enough. Either Marvel should sell the rights to the name back to DC or, more interestingly, DC should sell the character of Captain Marvel to Marvel Comics (Now THAT would be interesting to see, although sadly it'd never happen). Either way, the current status quo needs to end.

I am shocked by the general audience lack of comic knowledge, my mrs doesn't read comics and isn't interested in comics and had no idea who green lantern was and when I said flash she thought I was talking about flash gordon. I think the GA's knowledge of DC heroes is superman, batman, wonder woman and aquaman (obviously GL now with the advent of the movie) beyond that it's a stretch.

as I said earlier you don't have to introduce all the JL in solo movies when HALF THE TEAM is recognised by the GA. DC should think about the bottom line - money. the GA would be more interested in seeing batman and superman together with supoorting heroes than say a solo flash movie, that is as close to a fact (without it actually being a fact).
