This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]371181[/split]

We apologize for the inconvenience.
hmm i wish i could find the full thing for you. The interviews between songs are pretty special.. and hell, even my grandparents found a new appreciation for her when they watched it.
and i look forward to what you pick!
No you don't.

One of my favorite songs but one I can't listen to very much, especially not at 11:11 pm.
EDIT: Jesus Christ what have I done...this thread is starting with a Scott Walker song...
lol. Ok... well I did listen to it. haha. (the whole thing believe it or not) and yeah... I think he's the perfect marriage of "hipster and emo" I can see why you don't listen to it often.. haha, sorta felt like a psychedelic drug trip on anti-depressants (that didn't work). it's not my taste, but the artist in me appreciated it (alot actually) I think it would work really well in setting a mood for a scene in a film... I could see it being used alot for film actually. So thank you for sharing that!
the song actually felt like the film equivalent of the Roman Polanski film "Repulsion" which is a great film.. but incredibly out there and more of an experimental mood film ..
You've hit me at the core now.
How could you say that?

EDIT: since we talked about the meanings of Gaga's songs I think it's fun to mention, Jessie is indeed about Elvis' twin brother (whom he smothered in the womb and was born still born) the song is pretty much a fictional account of Elvis' feelings on the situation (it's documented he was traumatized over this) the guitar notes in the song are the first notes of "Jailhouse Rock" (an Elvis song)
All together its a creative dream, or nightmare.
I think what hour trying to say and go for, is that you like your music more "abstract". You don't like to be told what the song is invoking, you want to interpret it yourself. Sort of like comparing Shakespeare to a haiku. The lyrics sent as important to you as much as the mood and symbolic picture your musician paints?
id actually say your music is age appropriate, but it's more of an underground scene. Many fans i'm sure might actually appear to be hipsters even. But I bet there's definitely a 25-35 age group out there. id try going to related music concerts and such, hell maybe there's an Indy record store out there where you can hangout and chat with people? The lyrics tell a definite story but in any song they should be open to personal interpretation.
Scott is classically undefined. Which I think serves him best.
The Drift was once reviewed this way:
"Your first listen will either be cherished like a birth of a child, or burned into your mind like a murder" I think that says most of it. "Jesse" is the most accessible of the songs on the album.
This all being said, this musical taste of mine segments me off from a lot of people my age. A LOT. Couple that with my other eccentricities and...well...I'm doomed.
Cept my Straight friend, who gets some of it but has some great ideas of his own. He's into Radiohead (A band I've never got into fully) A band who have admitted to being heavily influenced by Walker
Which we both found out one day browsing the internet surfing each others taste
If you lived in LA I could actually give you a list of places you might find friends with common interests.... id say live in North Hollywood, downtown, or Silverlake. And frequent at Amoeba records, Akbar (the gay bar of Silverlake that's pretty Indie and Zachary Quinto hung out at alot), and check out concerts at the whiskey ago go
I've been to all those places. The only one I like is Amoeba.
The rest is just what you said "indie" which is not really what I'm interested in.
I like L.A. but I felt a lot of it was... uh... I don't know. I like NYC better ultimately.
haha.
My other interest are personal. They're things I do on my own. Writing, Philosophy...
Things I feel if you search them out, you'll never find them, you know?
If I went to a writing workshop it'd be fun for writing but I never find someone there I like...its too forced.
Whenever I was impressed by someone It was a random event.
