Rise of the Silver Surfer GALACTUS Discussion

How do you know he exploded......possibly he was simply taken into a black hole.....because why wasn't the Silver Surfer killed, he was smack in the middle of the cloud....

the only thing that can save F4 for me is if the next movie is a dark apocalyptic feel with intensity of the world ending in a split second floating through the air for the whole movie

I think the only thing that could save FF would be for the rights to revert to Marvel and it be properly done some years down the line.

And it's not just the bullcrap they pulled on Galactus that has me firm in this belief.

Ta-daaaaaaa!!!

because he's magical :D

I'm surprised people can make out what's in that cloud. Some days it looks like Michael Jackson, and other days it looks like DMX is gon' give it to ya cosmic style.

The best twist to the standalone Silver Surfer movie would be if the clouds parted to reveal Tom Cruise's laughing face.

Yeah, "dark & apocalyptic."
That's the FF alright. :whatever:

This was one thing that wasn't explained well by the editing of the film. If you view the director commentary on the deleted scenes, the original opening showed the journey of the surfer to earth through the credits. He has the ability to create worm holes to travel great distances.

I think the Surfer is meant to create a worm hole that sends Galactus far away from earth. That's my take on it anyway.

The scene in the movie clearly shows an explosion that dissipates the Cloudlactus. Odd that this world devourer made a herald powerful enough to kill him.

There was no sense of teleportation or wormhole use in that scene.

You mean the cloud being sucked into a hole was no indication of Galactus being sucked into a wormhole?

^I see what he is saying though, i seriously doubt the GA saw the Galactacloud being sucked into a wormhole.

The people i talk too think Galactus was destroyed, my family even thought both Galactus AND SS were dead!

I doubt he should be dead from that kind of attack but knowing Tim Story, he probably is dead. I think that if there's a sequel both Galactus and the Silver Surfer should return and the explanation for Galactus' defeat is that he hadn't fed on any planet's in a while so he was weak and he couldn't maintain his humanoid form.

What do you mean, "knowing Tim Story"?

Tim said himself that Galactus wasn't dead.

Story's told a couple of lies, already.

Obviously, Galactus is not dead, but not because of Story's word.

I doubt they would return in a sequel because it would basically be telling the same story over again which I don't think would sit well with the audience.

What if it was just Galactus? It wouldn't be telling the same story over again, it would just be an enemy that was talked about previously. I mean, Doom was in part 2 as well.

You know how they say "It's always scarier when you don't see the face of evil"?

Well, that wouldn't apply. :wow:

i just found this thread, AND OH MY GOD......

damn i was mad about Galactus.... he was nothing more than a thunder storm... like a being NOT A PHYSICAL BEING. WE DIDN'T EVEN SEE GALACTUS....

what in the hell????????????????????????????

I wasn't thrilled with FF2's vision of Galactus either, but how can people say they didn't 'see' him within his 'cloud' ship...

I see some shadows that can, with some effort, be made into something like a vague face.

There's nothing more than that, and, frankly, it is a very, very poor attempt in covering both the sheer lack of ideas and the real nature of Galactus.

But if FOX is really 'saving' Galactus for a Silver Surfer movie, I could see how they would find this acceptable...but they were wrong.

Should they have left Galactus completely out of this movie?? That might have been the better option than giving us there version of the ultimate universe Galactus (that is really the Galactus they gave us in FF2 and NOT the mainstream universe's purple planet eater).
