Ah, you weren't paying close attention were you?

Robert has a brother Stannis that Ned sent that message to. Also it's kind of the dirty little secret that "everyone" (Littlefinger, Varys) knows.

Not sure if I haven't gotten to this point in A Clash of KIngs but...

Stannis says to Renly that he told John Arryn of his suspicion that the queen and the kingslayer were doin it and that all the children were abominations of nature... he never mentions Neds letter. Did that letter EVER leave kingslanding??

I was a bit upset that they showed Ned telling Yoren about Arya. Yoren seemed like a more heroic and loyal brother of the black to Benjen when he grabbed Arya and didn't let her see her fathers beheading. Now it seems as Ned sent him and Yoren's story from here on in is more Ned's doing than his own sense of loyalty and honour... that bothered me a touch.

Yes, it's a brief mention when he's talking about Ned. However Stannis already had his suspisions about the Lannisters.

That is what I suspected. I didn't know for sure if the letter got through or not.

If they adapt the Sansa chapter after Ned's execution then people are gonna hate Joffrey even more.

Sean Bean Stabbed in Bar Brawl

Turns out, Sean Bean's hero image is the real deal.

The "Game of Thrones" and "Lord of the Rings" tough guy reportedly came to the aid of his famous glamour model companion after a fellow pub reveler made some untoward comments on her topless posing past. While Bean's white knighthood was obviously admirable, it also proved rather dangerous, as a melee ensued and the actor was ultimately stabbed outside the London pub.

So what, exactly, happened? And just how is Bean doing now?

According to the Daily Mail, the incident kicked off when the 52-year-old Bean and 22-year-old Playboy bunny April Summers (real name Nadia Foster) went outside Camden's Hill Bar and Brasserie to smoke. A passerby spotted the duo (or at least one half of the duo) and began making lewd comments, leading Bean to confront the big talker.

All was seemingly well until the stranger returned later on, at which point a scuffle broke out, and Bean was reportedly punched in the face, causing a bruise over his eye, and stabbed in the arm with broken glass. Despite his wounds, Bean refused any medical attention and opted not to go to a hospital.

Instead, the actor accepted a first aid kit from the bar staff, then ordered another drink.

Guess all those tough guy roles haven't been too much of a stretch, after all.

Btw, I hope Ned Stark would still be an impact later on, despite his absence.

haha, yes! Read that today also, Bean is hardcore, man

Can't wait for the next episode, have a feeling Drogo is gonna bite it

I just watched the death and my jaw ****ing dropped,no way. Best hour of television all year so far.

There's no honor in going to a hospital.

Also, after the scene with Ned and Varys, I wasn't sad to see Ned be executed. He was prepared to die and it's what he wanted. I'll still miss him though :csad:

I think Ned was prepared to die, but he (and everyone else) didn't expect Joffrey to issue that execution order, but like a proud warrior that he was he did not forsaken his dignity and beg for mercy. In the end, he was just a family man who wanted to do the right thing, and it still cost him his life.

Kind of a dumb question, but is The Twins the only way to cross the river and go between the North and South? I was wondering if Robert et al took it going to and from Winterfell and if Catelyn took it when she was going to/from King's Landing.

Also, how long does it take to go from The Wall to Winterfell and Winterfell to King's Landing? I was under the impression it took a really long time but in later episodes, things seemed to happen a lot faster.

If you look at the map, Kings Landing is southeast of Winterfell. You'll notice that if you don't cross at The Twins, or on the Kingsroad itself (which they took on the trip down from Winterfell when Ned got the job) then you will have to cross Below The Trident where the 3 major rivers converge, it is like 3 Mississippi rivers meeting and becoming something like the Amazon in some places, just way wide and deep.

The Twins is the only way to cross that part of the river. You could avoid it... but my guess is it is days of riding.

It was said that it took a month for the royals to travel from Kings Landing to Winterfell... but Lady Stark was able to cut the time down and arrive at almost the same time as Ned by taking a ship from White Harbor.

If the maps in the books are to scale... the Wall is about a quarter of the distance of Winterfell to Kings Landing... so I would guess about a weeks journey.

Thanks. I always like having a good idea of distances time it takes to travel when I read/watch something like this.

Hearing about this recent episode really makes me wish I had HBO.

They had a big entourage with them. It might have been faster with a smaller party.

Yeah, but a month? Must be the size of Russia. Mordor is closer to the Shire than that (not that one can simply walk into it).
