That's one theory. I think what's more certain is that as the title suggests, the Starks and Targaryens are the principle protagonists in the story. Jon is actually the son of Lyanna and Robert, conceived before her death and she never told Robert....probably sometime during the rebellion she gave birth, swore Ned to take Jon and raise him as his own

Robert and Lyanna actually had "relations". So little is know about her besides both Rheagar and Robert infatuation with her. I do know that the Reeds and the Daynes are the only ones left to shed clues on this riddle. Apparently we'll get some more clues in the new book coming out.

how much of a role Loras plays later in the series. I know of Renly's fate and where Loras currently stands, but as far as plot importance and "screentime," how much more prominent of a role can we expect for Loras as the series progresses?

is more of a secondary character. Margery Tyrell is more of a player in the grand scheme of things than Loras is. Loras becomes one of the Kingsguard after Renly's fate. He has some moments with Jaime, Cersei, Brienne and Tommen in A Feast For Crows. As far as screentime? I don't know. He has moments that are aluded to in the books that I suppose could be expanded scenes. Such as him burying Renly by himself but the bulk of his "scenes" are in season 2 and season 4 if they stick to the one book per season plan. If the third book is split in two it will be different. It's still up in the air if he'll survive his fate at the end of A Feast For Crows, however he's not going to look the same for sure.

Well read the books and make up your own mind. That's whats great about them. I'm not in the Jaime support camp but I can see why people like him.

Watch the show or read the books, spoiling it on some website just robs yourself of the experience. Not to mention wiki quite frequently gets things wrong like timelines, character relationships, sequences of events. I have no doubt whoever wrote those wiki pages read the books, but did they really "get" what was going on underneath the surface story of a war?
