Game of Thrones - HBO part 2

I thought the finale was slightly anti-climatic, at least compared to the last episode. But then, I don't see what the big deal about a few infant dragons is...

It might seem anticlimatic after seeing Ned get his dome chopped off... but it is rather a climatic ending... just not as climatic as seeing your protagonist getting killed off. If Ned had not died in the previous episode, this would have been a HUGE deal Drogo dies, and Dany brings Dragons back to the world....

Anyone know does Arya ever get her direwolf back? Just looking for a yes/no, not a spoilery account of how if yes.

It's amazing how much you catch if you go back and watch the eps a second time. Like Tyrion Lannister peeing off the wall one minute and then shaking Snow's hand goodbye the next....with the same hand

I can't wait for the Lannisters to go down. That better happen soon. They are all rotten bastards

This is literally the one thing that pisses me off most about the show. In the books Sansa and Hound have this weird relationship going on. He tells her about his backstory, not Littlefinger. He protests a few times when Joff wants her beaten, and even saves her from killing herself a few times.

But in the show he barely even talks to her or does anything for her.

that happens later on......

Sean Bean might have spilled the beans on this

Its a spoiler BUT its in the recent NY magazine...awesome interview!

From an interview with Sean Bean, where he confirms that Jon is not Ned's true son:
INTERVIEWER: My money’s on the mother being Ned’s dead sister and the father being Rhaegar Targaryen. If Ned swore to protect his dead sister’s son from his own best friend, the best way of doing that would have been to claim him as his own and take him in.

SEAN: Ned really knows who [Jon’s parents are], but he can’t let on. That’s why it’s such a moving moment, those poignant scenes I have with Kit Harington [who plays Jon], because I couldn’t say what I really thought. There are so many things I could have said, because there is a love there between the two of them, but I can’t express it as overtly as I can with the other children, who I can hold and kiss. Even if I were his true father, I can’t talk about it for fear of offending my wife, who’s really bitter about this. So it’s really a cruel situation. Through no fault of his own, Ned took on a lot by taking Jon in.

btw I thought this was hilarious

Interviewer: Some people are really upset.
Sean Bean:I saw this video, these two black guys from L.A., and the older one tells him I died, and the young one is really pissed off that I’m dead! He keeps going, “That can’t be ****ing true. He killed off my man!” It’s fantastic. It’s so funny. I can’t stop laughing at that. They’re the last people you would expect to be so pissed off!

Isn't that in the [BLACKOUT]2nd book[/BLACKOUT]?

What's the deal with the Hound? Seems like that's the second time he's shown Sana a kindness- makes me wonder what his motivation really is...

Nothing nearly as creepy as Littlefinger. :shock

P.S.: Yes, LF really does say this in the books. While pretending to be [blackout]Sansa's father[/blackout].

Yes and no.

Heh, good answer however you realize you're just going to push him to look it up on wiki and spoil himself further? If you really have to know what happens to it I'll tell you in spoilers.

Damn Tywin, being jealous that his family didn't own a Valyrian Steel blade, has ice melted down to make two seperate swords. Although the weilders of one of those blades is not someone you'd expect.

I love watching all the "rage" going on with people watching the show....first rage, then the crying and why? why? whyyyyy?

people have to understand, this isn't SVU or Leverage where the bad guy gets his in 60 minutes

when i first started watching this i was warned that in this story not everything comes in a nice neat package

Yep and that includes [BLACKOUT]swords[/BLACKOUT] :yay:. However stick with it. The highs are that much sweeter when they happen.

I hope one of those swords gets to taste some Lannister blood.

One question I have for those who've read the books. I recall someone mentioning that the show hasn't shown people's dislike for the Stark Direwolves. However, this last episode seemed to suggest that Commander Mormon likes Ghost. Is that made clear in the book?

There is a whole heck of a lot not covered in the show. Yes, people fear direwolves. It's touched upon briefly when they are first brought to Winterfell.

Does Mormont like Ghost? No, not anymore than a commander in that situation would see the tactical advantage of having a Bigfoot, Gryphon or any other mythical creature that one of his men actually controls. He likes Jon and he's glad his life was saved, but his gratitude is for the man, not his beast.

Dudes, I'm gonna have to check but I thought her hair was burnt off after coming out of the fire? I have to go back and check, but I'm pretty sure she was burned bald.

she was burned bald, but it was more for the aesthetics than anything else, at least in the book

I never considered it a major deviation

I see. I was wondering if he liked him (or at least didn't hate/fear him) since he said "If we beheaded everyone who ran away for the night, only Ghost would guard the wall" (or maybe he said ghosts) and later said he needs Jon and Ghost when they go north of the wall.
