Yeah, so far we have seen Sir Loras "The Knight Of Flowers" Tyrell only.

No, they are not quasi-kingdoms, they are all full blown kingdoms and countries that are quite large with huge populations differing traditions, etc. It presents the same picture one would get if you could imagine all of Europe under one banner run from Southern Spain, or somewhere else strategic for trade on the Mediterranean.

I saw it as like the nations of the United Kingdom you got England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Island each kingdoms with their own languages, cultures and traditions united as one country.

The Wall like Hadrian's Wall. Even the north/south attitudes are simliar to that of Britains

I really enjoyed the season finale. I thought this episode was just a powerful as episode 9.

I'm 38 chapters into ACoK. I woneder how much stuff they'll change?

I don't imagine they'd have to change much. A number of the "changes" thus far for the series were to give certain non-POV characters screentime. So Theon, for example, who becomes a POV character in ACoK but is not one in AGoT. Or Robb, who's not a POV character at all.

Well, the creators have mentioned that they plan to add to Jaime and Robb. However, what I'm more concerned about is that the episodes might get too choppy as the story takes place across quite a few locations simultaneously. I suspect the show might cut back a bit on [blackout]Stannis[/blackout], at least at the beginning; keeping the character as an unseen character until the storyline converges with the original mains'.

I cant wait till Dany starts interacting with more main characters (starks/lannisters) and to see where Aryas storyline goes.

Story wise? Sure. Visually, I'm going to have to disagree.

Lord of the Rings, had a very unique world. The movie budget helped, but it was much more otherworldly. From the Shire to Moria.

Personally, I don't think it is a big deal that her hair didn't get burnt off; in fact, I think it seems a bit ridiculous why her hair would burn while rest of her body doesn't; I mean, it's MAGIC, and can't be explained by logics or physics. I know GRRM did it in the book, but visually Dany looks alot better retaining her hair, whereas in the book you don't have the imagery of a bald Dany to deal with.

She's a dragon, dragons don't have hair ... her dragon-skin does not burn. Bam, explained. They mention her being the dragon so many, or when her brother thought he was? It's neither here nor there about the hair, but if one wants to talk about how it works in the story then there ya go.

It's gonna be a long time till those dragons are grown (ie battle effective, able to defend themselves), or Dany even interacts directly or even indirectly with Westeros. It's not going the route you expected but her story is great.

Now I can't wait to see how they are gonna do the direwolves. I'm sure we'll see them less or only when necessary. After all, animating wolves the size of horses is no mean feat. But we still have a while till they get to that level, they'll just be pretty big coming up.

I'm pretty sure it was explained that "caged" dragons didn't grow as fast or as big as dragons that were free to rome. I can see the Dragons getting pretty unruly in the new book coming out. It's going to be a whole new challenge for Dany to reign them in. Especially Drogon, I can see her needing Bran's help for that one.

Yeah that could work if they had chose to go that route. However, there are many, many other ways magic could work that would allow Dany to keep her hair.

No. He's bastard born. Ned was right in supporting Stannis' claim as far as the Baratheons go. As Renly said though, they put Robert on the Throne, they didn't follow lines of succession before, don't plan on anyone following them to a T going forward either. However, Gendry's role is expanded by quite a bit in book / season 2.

Regarding the growth of the Dragons

Yeah, that last scene with her paying off people ended pretty brutally. I can't wait for the next book. You have a good theory but I've got my own ideas. Will post later when not on the smartphone.

I doubt he'll stop there with these two, though, and for fans who can grow attached to certain characters, these two's deaths are a warning sign of things to come.

Well I'll say this. There are going to be many great new characters to get attached to. The expansion of this story is going to go way beyond Starks vs. Lannisters.

Can someone tell me why alot of readers seem to not like Dany? I am 300 pages into a storm of swords and i havent fpund anything yet to make me hate her. Is something going to happen later that makes her an unlikeable character or am i just missing something. No spoilers please.

When we first meet the character, she comes off to me as exceedingly whiny. Mind you, I'm not saying she shouldn't be. None of my problem comes from the writing - I just don't like her as a character.

Whiny, then running with a power-trip for way too long. Martin treats her as his Alexander the Great, but she never strikes me as charismatic enough. Ever. And then there's her not really being a part of the "Story of Westeros," as it were, so I find her chapters to be utterly meh, usually. That's just me. I really just care about her peripheral characters, and the worth of Martin's writing in general.

As mentioned previously, I also had a hatred of Sansa until A Feast for Crows. I hate Bran. And I hate Catelyn.

True. However, I do believe that the most pivotal characters during the final book/season's will be main characters from the first book/season (at least those who survive that long). Otherwise, why are we following their stories from that early on?

Two characters probably have a better claim to the throne than Dany does. In order:
1. Stannis, for reasons I'm sure we can all fathom. He is next in line after Robert, and Cersei's children are not of Baratheon-lineage. Considering Baratheon is now the royal house of King's Landing and the Iron Throne, he's the direct claim.
#2 shall be in spoilers, though it's not a spoiler of anything past the first book and is utter speculation:

I contend, as do many others including Sean Bean, that Jon is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. As such, if this were ever made known and recognized, he would be in direct claim to the throne from a Targaryen standpoint. Aerys --> Rhaegar --> Jon.

#3. Dany. I think her daddy's genes run a little too strong in her, though, and that she'd probably just have the dragons burn the entire ****ing city down.

And I hate four characters - three now, technically - in the series. Given how many POV characters there are, that isn't even close to most of the protagonist characters, and even less in the grand scheme of major players in the story.

Because they're part of the plot early on.

That doesn't mean they're part of the plot two books later, or in the next book, or even necessarily later in the same book.

It's funny, looking back at the early episodes, Robert seems like a really nice guy. At least compared to his predecessor (the mad king) and his evil son.
