For whatever reason, many of us have games we still haven't beaten. Sometimes it's just that other things get in the way, and you haven't had enough time dedicated to the game, or other times it's because the game is freakin HARD! :cmad:

Most of mine are from the NES era

Mega Man - Oh yeah, the very first. I could beat a couple of the boss bots, but I found this game so damn hard I could barely stand it. MM2 was better, but I never finished it because of the annoying "slide" motion Mega Man has when he stops. It was distracting.

Captain America and the Avengers - It's a decent enough game, but it's repetitive as all get out. Plus, the bosses take a ridiculously long time to beat.

Castlevania - A classic, but I never got past the Frankenstein monster. :csad:

Final Fantasy 7 - One of those I just haven't gotten around to finishing yet. Someday.

Super Star Wars - GAHHH..I don't think I ever got past the first level on any of them. :wall:

Hmmm...

The only game I haven't finished this gen was Dead Space... It's a real pity cos it's a great game... Just really freakin difficult!

Far Cry 2.

My absolute favorite single player FPS, but i never finished it. I think it was because i couldnt get into the next mission because the game glitched out on me. I'll prob give it another try at some point.

Yakuza and Bully Damn FFXII for coming out right when they did

Jak II - there was one part I found too frustrating and never quite could finish

Prince of Persia: Two Thrones

ICO

Devil May Cry 3

My list is gonna be pretty friggin' long, but I think I'll start with just the notable highlights:

Legend of Zelda 1 and 2
Pretty much every adventure game published by Sierra that I've played
Final Fantasy VII (I got pretty close, though)
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy XII
Kingdom Hearts 2
Half-Life
Half-Life 2
Portal
Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth

Jak II - there was one part I found too frustrating and never quite could finish

I was stuck on one part too. I think you had to fly one of those small vehicles really far. Didn't play it for a year, then Jak 3 came out, played that a bit, and then went tried Jak 2 again and beat it.

I have a lot I've played a little but never finished. But of games I've gotten far but never beaten:

Link's Awakening- can't find one key in the Eagle Tower
Oracle of Ages
Okami- I played it up until the point of no return. I saw that you have to re-fight every boss. I put it aside for awhile since I had played a lot in a relatively short amount of time. Haven't gotten back to it.

LOL!

So Im in the middle of HALO 3 ODST....

Well, never had the time recently....

I'm not going to count the games I bought but haven't played.

Breakdown - I made it to the white room where there's 3 waves of enemies. I lost count how many times I died and tried different tricks to stay alive. None worked. I have no intention of finishing the game.

Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood - I loved Road to Hill 30 and it's the only WW2 game I still enjoy playing. I bought Earned in Blood after beating Hill 30 and I was left wondering how the guys that made the previous game made this. The squad AI is utterly ******ed, and it's glaringly obvious since this is a main feature in the game. Even though I'd like to know what happened to Red, I don't care enough to find out.

God of War - I got tired of fighting the Kratos clones while trying to save his family's "ghosts".

Grabbed by the Ghoulies - started out as a fun game, but the control layout is one of the worst I've ever seen which makes the game too damn annoying to play.

Splinter Cell: Double Agent (360 version) - I got sick of the mission in the Sea of Ohkostk as the sound keeps glitching out. Whoever missed this during testing should never test another game again.

Assassin's Creed- I only put it into my 360 every 6 months or so to climb stuff.

God of War and God of War 2...I did however beat GOW3
Dark Void it got glitchey and I stopped playing out of frustration

Donkey Kong Country
Megaman Legends 2 (I didn't defeat the final form of the last boss because I had no health recovery, and I wasn't in the mood to go back all the way to get some, so I dropped).

Killzone 2, which is suprising cause it's one of the best FPS on the PS3.

I haven't beaten most of the games I've played, due to them being either too long to hold my interest, too hard, or both.

From the old NES days, CastleVania and Ninja Gaiden were the two game I most remember not being able to beat. I've downloaded both onto my Wii and still can't beat them. The Virtual Console did give me the opportunity to finally beat Kid Icarus though.

From the current generation I've had Okami on the Wii and Fallout 3 on the 360 for about a year and a half now and have barely scratched the surface. Both games are basically the definition of life and other games getting in the way. Every time I try to start playing them, something distracts me, this summer I fully intend to play through both games though.

Ninja Gaiden (gave up on it)
Super Mario Bros. (always so close :cmad:)
Mario 64
Kingdom Hearts

Plus many more.

There are a number, but I just want to chime in on one in particular. That stupid ass X-Men game for the NES. I played that damn thing enough to wear it out, usually only to continually look around like a dumbass about what to do when I'd completed all the missions and had all the computer chips. It was an enduring exercise in frustration, just thinking that one day someone would click or I'd see something different and advance to where I could commence to kicking Magneto's ass. Ultimately, I gave up.

I come to find out years later, that there was some stupid code you had to input to advance. Not having a more conventional setup is stupid in the first place, but the damn thing was even printed wrong on the front of the box. So even if I did get inventive enough to try (which I even may have; I don't remember), there still would have been no joy in Mudville. Of all the incompetent, ass backward and ****ing moronic things to do. **** you, LJN.

i havent beaten ninja gaiden sigma probably cuz I just lost interest, final fantasy 8 i just havent gotten around to yet, same with castlevania symphony of the night, silent hill, adnd soul reaver (all bought off the ps store) and trine as well
