... well, in Sweden at least. So far that fat cat has brought in $1,9 million in Sweden compared to $1,6 million for Superman. Shocking? Not really. Superheroes have never been big business in Sweden. And Superman hasn't been published here since the 80's, while a lot of newspapers publishes Garfield-comic strips daily. Ask a five or six-year old kid in Sweden who Superman is, he/she probably won't have a clue.

But the Pirates have been dominating here too: $12,8 million so far. Almost ten times as much as Superman in other words.

I am right in thinking the Phantom is a very popular character in Sweden?

Yeah, he's actually very popular (at least compared to everything Marvel and DC have created)

Sweden, isn't that where Conan O'Brien is really popular also?

I don't know the numbers but I have the feeling that Garfield beat Superman in Finland too...

Shouldn't this actually go into the Superman Returns boards  ?
And yeah , you know it's bad when Garfield beats Supes.

At least it't not as bad as Kriish pummeling Supes in INDIA
ROFL :D

I did ask the mods if this topic belonged either here or in the supes forums , but the reply was that this is about Garfield's BO , not Supes. So it should just stick here.
Phew ,that just saved me a bunch of hater posts :p
bwahahaha :D

I'm waiting for someone to say, who cares about Sweden? Everytime a country is reported doing something we don't like, we always say that.

Who cares about sweden :oldrazz:

Seriously tough, i didn't expect Garfield to perform that well.....:whatever:
I know alot of people here in Holland who read Garfield ( not just kids , mostly adults) and they all hate garfield the movie and it' sequel with a passion.
I do too , but then again i find Bill Murray incredibly annoying and vastly overrated. :oldrazz:

I don't know. I suppose most people here just thinks that superheroes with weird powers in strange costumes is a silly and stupid thing. As for Garfield's success... well Sweden has always been a strong market for movies aimed at kids. The biggest success of all time is The Jungle Book...

Looks like Sweden is full of clueless people.

Hey SWEDEN has 6 ft HOT BLONDES DAMMIT.
IN NO WAY ARE THEY CLUELESS
