So Kamiya is out at Platinum Games. Reading between the lines, he was pushed out. I'm guessing that Project GG was not... going great. And considering the last game he directed that actually came out was Wonderful 101, it does not seem that huge of a loss. I think Bayonetta and Astral Chain will survive without his supervision.

Judging by what happened to Devil May Cry....yeah, they should be fine

Should be the case everywhere in the world that 'loot box' gambling and other paid currency gambling be rated for adults.

The ESRB could have been rating real-world gambling mechanics in games automatically as M-rated for years but they instead do they bidding of the big publishers.

This is insane.
Didnt they not too long ago literally boast about the profit they made with Fortnite etc?
I think last year it was around 6 Billion or so.

Something is so insanely wrong here.
Making Billions, spending millions on games...but firing staff.

Pay, conditions and job security for regular devs is terrible. I’m happy for no new games if enough of them had unions and could do this.

Unity backlash: Why gamers, developers united against the game engine | PCWorld

Can lead to a massive delisting of video games if Unity goes forward with these retroactive massive changes to the way they all do business, in a rug pull (you’re invited to stand on a rug and the inviter pulls it out from underneath you on purpose).

CEO and President John Riccitiello out at Unity.

Hopefully he doesn't take over for Jim Ryan at Sony.

Iger's deputies are pushing him to consider a bolder transformation of Disney from gaming licensee to gaming giant through, say, an acquisition of Electronic Arts. But, as with everything else, he's been noncommittal.
