Let's not forget what the Germans have degenerated to in terms of sex and pornography. Also the Japanese.

See what happens when you lose a World War?
Honestly, I don't know much about it, but I think he was actually. How about Mussolini and Italy? Was he as well received by the GA?

Hitler only began to lose his appeal once he began losing ground in the war, even then they stuck by him fairly well though.
After? I'm pretty sure the German people were in the know, maybe not down to the exact details, but understood the general gist of what was going on, much like our racism in the South (and North -- and anywhere else). Jews were not exactly popular in Europe at the time. What about after they learned of the holocaust?
As far as I know England had tons of problems with bigotry against Jews and were fighting the Nazis at the time. That's why many did not flee. No where to flee to. Some did manage to make it to Africa and Israel, where they lived peacefully (for the most part) during the war. Hitler was originally mulling over the idea of sending them to Africa or the Middle East, but it was costly. He also thought to send them elsewhere in Europe but no European country wanted Jewish immigrants, since they too didn't really care for them.I watched Schindlers List recently, and I kept wondering how AWKWARD of a time period right after WWII must have been for Jews....They really had no place to truly call their home. Many were still huge supporters of the Nazi cause and I'm sure prejudice's and hate crimes went on in Europe long after the Allies won the war.
While Germans may not be evil today, I can't say the same about them in the 1980's. It's hard to forgive a country that gave us "Der Kommissar" by Falco.
My girlfriend is Korean and believe me she definitely could say a few choice things about Japanese (not saying I agree with her, I've been to Japan many times and think the people, food and sights are great, but still... for many Chinese and Koreans, the sins of what Japan did in WWII haven't washed away, mainly because they refuse to apologize, make amends for, or even admit to those sins. And then there's the land disputes).
Japan has become a linchpin in China's economy. By of the end of 2002, the Japanese had pumped in US$36.34 billion in foreign direct investment, or 8.11 percent of China's total utilized FDI, making Japan China's largest foreign investor, according to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce ... About 25 percent of the funding for all of China's infrastructure projects between 1994 and 1998 -including roads, railways, telecom systems and harbors- came from Japan.

Pretty sure plenty of Jews fled to England. Stephen Fry, Rachel Weisz, Ed and David Miliband as well as Jerry Springer's family all fled to Britian to escape the Nazis and those are just the famous examples I can think of from the top of my head.As far as I know England had tons of problems with bigotry against Jews and were fighting the Nazis at the time. That's why many did not flee. No where to flee to. Some did manage to make it to Africa and Israel, where they lived peacefully (for the most part) during the war. Hence Israel.
Hitler was more or less a dead certainty, rising notions of Social Darwinism coupled with anti-Semitism made it a perfect climate for a party like Hitler's.
Excuse me. Falco is from Fantasia.
Basically our text books in America are written how the government wants us to see things. For example, think about how different it is in our text books compared to those probably of the native americans and japanese and african americans.
Not to be rude but many foreigners don't even know what modern British cuisine is I have often found.
Excuse me my friend, but Falco was austrian.
In Britain, particularly London you can eat basically anything your heart's desires and it'll be good. It's very multicultural there in terms of food, I suppose you'd expect this from such a major city.I watch enough cooking shows to know that British food isn't as bland as the stereotypes say, but every now and then I run into something that reinforces those stereotypes. I mean, hopefuldreamer says she doesn't put seasoning on her food.
Indian food ought to be pretty plentiful in London. I'd imagine quite a bit of Middle Eastern there as well. I don't really remember much of it, too young. Is it sad that the first thing I want to eat if I ever go to London is Indian food? As if there aren't a handful of Indian restaurants in my town alone.
