well who knows since the whole marvel/disney deal and all that. As i said before myself, really i think the merger is probably a factor in why we havent heard anything from marvel/disney on the show, plus more recently sony giving the tv rights back to marvel for spider-man. But yea still crossing fingers we get more SSM.

I will remain optimistic as i said in my above posts to we have any official word or what not. Like i said there was probably many factors in play with why the show hasnt been renewed yet. First disney buying the rights to air the show, then they deciding to go through 1st season first. Second the whole disney buying marvel merger deal. Which is still an ongoing process from what i heard. Then more recently sony television giving the tv rights to spider-man back to marvel. So these things all have a factor in why we probably havent heard anything solid on the show yet. Cause now either marvel animation or disney animation will probably have to animate the show(with or without the company who did the animation overseas for TSSM) and disney/marvel paying to make it and all that. So yea i am hoping for the best. I would like to see greg's original plan of 5 seasons happen.

As many letters to all three addresses! I have heard that letter writing campaigns have been effective in the past in saving shows.

I am trying to draft up my letter. I'll post it before I mail it to get feedback. Anyone else have input in what should be put in the letter, by all means share!

Perhaps we should start a thread in the Spider-Man Comics forum as well to see if we can get more support!

Yeah but Disney's greedy, as we speak they're weighing the pros and cons of either paying for a new season or just starting from scratch and make their own Disney Spiderman show. Honestly, the latter option is probably very tempting to them especially since they acquired marvel.

possibly but its so much easier to just pay to continue TSSM then going to the whole hassle of making a plot, and hiring new crews, and voice people and all that. It would probably be less cost to continue TSSM then a new show.

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is in support of the animated television show "The Spectacular Spider-Man." As a longtime fan of the character since the early 70's, I say this show is absolutely the best adaptation of the comic of any animated or live action incarnation. It is a show that I can enjoy along with my children (ages nine and twelve).

Rumor has it that this show may not be picked up for a third season. This would be a poor move for what is currently the best animated show based on a Marvel Comics property. This show deserves at least a five season run. And with "Spider-Man 4" soon to be on its way to theaters, it would only make sense to have a television property along with it. And why start up a whole new show, when you already have the definitive Spider-Man cartoon that is critically acclaimed and loved by fans of Spider-Man? It would seem more cost efficient and to maintain the superior quality, for you to continue the series with the creative team of Greg Weisman, Victor Cook, and Sean Galloway, a team who obviously knows how to handle the property.

So it is my sincere hope, along with countless other fans, that this show is given the green light for future seasons. Thank you for your time.

i dont wanna be a cynic but it seems that the financial crisis has hit tv shows very hard. apparently the last quaity TV series which has been canceled is "Dollhouse". it apears that the studios are fastening their belt too tight and are not willing to continue their shows unless they have exceptionaly good ratings. I hope spectacular Spidey is one of these shows

yea i think animated shows are a bit different then a live action show. for what i know of dollhouse, i dont watch it. But its been failing in ratings for fox for both seasons it has been on. But yea as i said in above posts the whole buying of marvel and sony giving marvel the tv rights to spider-man. Could be the two main factors why marvel/disney hasnt confirmed or denied anything on the show.

No offense to Dollhouse fans but their ratings have been steadily falling since its debut. Thats why fox cancelled it. Spectacular's ratings have been consistenly good so there really shouldnt be any reason to cancel.
