Or the, 'It was me all along' shock in the final denouement.

I won't say which movies use this twist in case you haven't seen them, but it's been used waaaaay too much as of late.

I saw a movie today, and I knew what the big revelation would be as soon as I realised there was to be one.

You could, possibly, say it's like waking up to the colonisation of America and slaughter of Native Americans, but that's no excuse to recycle it.

Thanks for giving The Number 23 away...:cmad:

So you're saying it wasn't the damn dirty apes.

Yeah, that was a pretty lame ending. What a waste of a good idea.

Its just the way movies roll

If it works out well for one movie, you will see the next 5 years about 3-5 copy cats a year

it just how it happens

No. 23 was okay imo 6.5/10ish, I am assuming that is the movie you are reffering to by making this thread

Oh, I'm referring to more than one - as I said, there are too many.

i don't mind those kind of twists if it's done well...

....case in point, A History of Violence.

See, I think the 'twist' was very well done in Memento, because from the very first shot, we're told that we can't trust ANYONE in the entire film (because we don't know anything about them). Everybody seems to forget that we shouldn't trust Guy Pearce's character, either.

Secret Window was another one.

"you stole my story"

Yeah, really.

High Tension is another. I loved it up until the end when it all came out.

im surprised people didnt like the number 23.... i thought it was awesome

But what about in television, you can't take this plot twist away in television otherwise we'd lose half the episodes of Smallville.

ugh, first thing that came to mind was Hide and Seek. ugh!

fight club was the first movie i really actually remember doing this, and then after i saw it i started noticing a whole wave of movies doing the same thing

maybe it just sticks out in my mind because its my favorite movie?

Yeah, Memento was one of the few to get it right.
