Ghost Watch-Question for those who live in Britain.

While looking for an old movie, I came across this little thing that the BBC did called Ghos****ch. The premise really intrigued me and I read a little bit about it and I started reading things that said that it was Britain's equivalent to when Orson Welles broad casted War of the Worlds. Now I'm curious to know, did it really have that much of an impact over there? What was your reaction to seeing it, if you infact saw it? I remember reading things about how when War of the Worlds aired people were arming themselves, were people doing anything outrageous like that?

And I know this was a TV news program, but I hope it's okay to leave this here since I'm asking more about the social impact then the show.

why the funk is Ghos****ch censored... or right It's supposed to be Ghost Watch, but it was one word when I saw it so...oh well.

ghost watch? if that's it, it's freaking great.
it has what I have come to understand was the equivalent of Dan Rather being serious about ghosts.
I got it and watch it frequently.

plus the guy from "red dwarf "is there.
I can't believe more people haven't heard of this.

LoL Ghos****ch is the cheapest show on TV.
Its just loads of people stood around in the dark going "ooh i think i saw something" "it just felt a bit cold for a second there.. a ghost must be present"

I remember when the big special was on TV. It was entertaining, but cant say i believed any of it, but then ive been naturally cynical since birth.

I just like the idea that fairly credible people were involved in it, I wonder if they'd ever be willing to try the idea over here.

Also, with the set being attacked by ghosts. It's great.

Better than that crap they call Most Haunted. It annoys the hell out of me, some Derek Acorah guy moaning and trembling as he hears spirits speak to him

That was a show that was broadcast as legit but it was actually scripted, obviously people thought it was real and there were stories of grown men being terrified of leaving their houses.

Those cats screaming is creepy, I've always hated that noise. At the end, when the door slowly opens, you catch a glimpse of Mr. Pipes standing there I think. Little touches like that is what I think made the show unsettling for people.

Apparently after watching the show, some kids suffered post traumatic stress disorder. There's also a rumor that one shot himself cause of the show.
