Director Kevin Munroe stated, in an interview with IGN, that TMNT will derive its humor to action ratio from these three films.

Those are three good selections IMHO.

Not to bump my own thread but...

I just saw "Miami Vice" last night and that movie clearly demonstrated why a little humor is so important to an action film. Miami Vice was non-stop serious and intense. By the end of the film I WAS EXHAUSTED! It really made me appreciate other action films (Lethal Weapon and Die Hard in particular) which incorporate humor to add levity and release for the audience.

I'm glad that TMNT will follow this pattern. Even the most serious storylines of the comics had some levity.

Miami Vice was aweseme... an adult film that required no comdey

I don't think you can go wrong with these three films. They're all classics.

You can't make a movie about four teenage brother without some sort of comic relief. It's just not possible. Although there should certainly be moments when it's time to get serious.

As often as I have something legitimate to add. Which thus far has been twice.

Hey I like that, and for the Turtles it works.

The question is, can they actually make it work in the movie?

I also think the first movie would be a good template to follow.

After watching Die Hard today, I think this is a good thing.

I can live with that. I refuse to watch another watered-down, Mothers Of America-compliant Turtle project.

That´s a good idea, I´m waiting to see the level of comedy and action for this Turtle movie.

is it me or in the new preview does it seem like gozer is attacking new york?

The trailer certainly shows an imbalance. It should be 70% serious, 30% comedy. The new trailer was 90% comedy, 10% serious. And the "serious" wasn't even threatning.
