I had a look around. It's called a deepstaria enigmatica jellyfish, and Wikipedia (I know) says it was discovered in 1967.

The skin looked too rich in texture to be faked. When I saw the bottom area of it I had to say it looked truly organic and authentic. Besides it is a real jellyfish.

It looks very much like a jellyfish, but it acts like a cephalod pod. Don't jellyfish just go with the flow of the water and aren't able to move on their own?

I personally think it's foolish to assume that the billions and billions of different species, discovered or not, on our earth started out here.
