I'm going to go ahead and play devil's advocate here, and suggest an alternate theory. as has been said before, the media likes to blow things out of proportion. not to mention some people are hot headed and will say anything to get their way. I cannot see the video yet, but here's a plausible alternate scenario.
Girl drops cake, or maybe even knocks cake over. She is instructed to clean it... repeatedly. she attempts once and dose an extremely half-assed job leaving a huge mess. she she attempts to leave, the guard pulls her back. she struggles fighting him as he tries to pull her back. her reacts by handcuffing her and in the process her wrist gets sprained or twisted.
the camera-people in the crowd may not have been so "Bystander" as described, hurling insults, threats, and slurs, not to mention they were holding evidence of the girl's offense. So possibly they were asked politely at first, and then, when they refused to comply, they were more forcibly detained.
When the Mother arrived she began raising cane, shoving on the principal, poking him, threatening him, becoming increasingly bellacose until finally the security stepped in and detained her. Maybe, along with her threats of litigation were threats of violence.
Is this how things went down, I don't know. but the idea that the girl complied so completely and the guards just went nuts is ludicrous to me. Not tha I think no one abuses power, but to be so ****ing petty?
also, did this girl and any of the others detained have records? that's another fact to consider. Perhaps she was known for being in fights, or hanging with a dangerous crowd.
Oh, and as to where Jesse and Al are, they're still in Jena, LA comforting six black teenage boys who beat up their white classmate.
Wow Thats hoenstly the most ****ed up thing ever, i swear to god if that happend to me, and a guard made me reclean, than break my arm, id ****in bash him across the face or kill him.
how the **** did he get 5 people arrested, im gonna pop that *****e bag.
I HATE LAW ENFORCEMENT!!
yeah right this is fake no one ever abuses authority.
Is dropping cake the new dropping the soap?

yeah, and you actually carefully read and considered what I wrote with an impartial thought processYeah, because doing a bad job of cleaning up cake is an acceptable excuse for a school security officer to rough up a student and arrest them.

No, you didn't get the gist of what I was saying. You were so damn far away you seemed to still be reading the original article. No, I got the gist of what you were getting at: It's okay for public school security officers to manhandle students over lunchroom mishaps to the point where they break the students arm and then arrest everyone who witnessed it.

I was suggesting that perhaps the entire event was embelished and exagerated by the "Victims" and the media.
I was suggesting that the students involved were not as tame and meek as they made themselves out to be. that they possibly instigated or provoked the officers. Perhaps they even had prior records of inciting or violent behavior. Furthermore, the article doesn't say he broke her arm, it says she CLAIMS he broker her arm, at least the reputable one does.
As to detaining the witnesses, he detained the ones who filmed it. I believe it might be because of the evidence, but not to hide it, to prove the girl's culpability. To exonerate because of how easily things are spun out of control when every anyone in authority attempts to enforce rules.
Yeah, standing there and video recording the incident on your cell phone is really rowdy. It sounds like a damn riot.

Wow, for skeptics, you guys don't do much to question the facts as they are presented to you. No wonder you're so damn liberal, you listen to whatever the media tells you, don't you. No, things could never be spun to be counterfactual. The media would dare make a bigger deal out of what happened there than there actually was. This must be the truth and worth being enraged about.A guy making a mountain out of a dropped cake? Happens in some families with fathers that have a couple screws loose
