Glee II: More GLeek!

I believe so. But I though him and Blaine having coffee with Rachel and Mercedes wasn't forced. The song however.

Yeah, the coffee scene would've been fine. The song was unneeded.

Also, does anyone else think Sue is experiencing a case of Fladerization? Her marrying her hand was fairly ridiculous and the cannon story tonight kinda carried it on. It was one thing when she was a bit over the top but lately it is just ridiculous.

This was my first Glee episode. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I feel like a football player being recruited into the club.
Glad that you enjoyed it. Surprised you knew what the hell was going on since it was a pretty plot heavy episode.

Thankfully my sister was there to hold my hand and guide me through it.

Overall, it was a pretty great episode. Not as good as "Duets" or the wedding episode, but still one of the more memorable episodes of season 2.

I'll say that the Thriller number was fantastic. In fact most of the musical numbers were great. ****, I even loved the Chevrolet commercial that reminded me of 1940s pro-America propaganda....but in a good way. ;) :oldrazz:

And the story moved briskly but worked well. I loved Sue's temper tantrum as well as the Cheerios quitting. Take that Sue! And Will's **** eating grin at the end during the Katie Couric interview was hilarious.

I only had two complaints. First, the football/glee team-up worked better than I thought but getting the girls on the football team and there being no raised eyebrows about that was perhaps a bridge too far (albeit, I loved the new girl, whose name escapes me, playing a real offensive line and muttering things like "You're gonna' die!"). Secondly, they need to find some way to bring Kurt back into the real Glee club soon. It is obvious they are straining themselves to keep Kurt in the show as it is now set up. The stuff at McKinley was so entertaining and interesting that by cutting over to a random musical number was beyond jarring. It reminded me of old 1930s Hollywood movies where a song/dance number would start just because that's what audiences liked, plot be forfeit!

Otherwise though a surprisingly good episode and I was expecting another Britney/Brittany letdown. So, I am happy.

I adore Lauren. I hope she stays.

This character left a bad taste in my mouth (almost literally) with the Britney Spears episode, but after the last episode and possibly what I've seen from the next one, I think I will be Lauren's biggest fan by the end of the season.

I thought this was a pretty great episode. I was expecting all flash and not much substance, but I was wrong. It even got me to like Lauren Zizes and halfway like Karofsky (I've thought ever since Never Been Kissed that Max Adler is a good actor, the character just kind of made my skin crawl). I loved Beiste all through this episode, she has the get-crap-done badassery of Sue without the...evilness. Will means well, but he's too wishy-washy on his own, he needs an ally like Beiste.

I also thought Sue was hilarious, and unlike Matt, I didn't find her all that much more over-the-top than she's been the whole time.

Yes, the Warbler number screamed "time for a Warbler number to remind everyone about that whole Dalton subplot and because Darren Criss makes us $$$", but I seem to be in the minority who thought Bills, Bills, Bills was fun, so I didn't really mind it even it was randomly thrown in there. It wasn't like it was meant to be taken all that seriously. I also liked the coffee scene with Kurt and Blaine ("warm milk, really?" "it's delicious", "Blaine and I love football. Well, Blaine loves football. I love scarves".), and it actually served a plot purpose (
Blaine telling Rachel and Mercedes about the football regulations
was a nice touch, especially considering they established Blaine was a football fan in The Substitute). After the way Vocal Adrenaline was in Season 1, I actually think it's nice to have a rival who's not at New Directions' throat all the time and can actually be a friend socially.

I was pretty skeptical about mashing something as iconic as Thriller up with something else, but Glee's knack for somehow making odd mashups flow smoothly held out. The number was pretty cool, albeit not as epic as the original Thriller.

I do think Finn is an idiot and a hypocrite for
being so righteous about Rachel trying to cheat on him with Puck and then returning to Quinn, who did the same thing, only two further by actually having sex with Puck AND having his baby
It's like, really, Finn? Really? And other than that I actually thought Finn was being a pretty good guy this episode...

Bring on SLS (I already know everything that happens, given by complete lack of willpower to resist spoilers, but reading the episode isn't the same as watching it, the acting and singing, etc. makes all the difference in how a scene comes across).

These reviews are great! Now I shall wait until tuesday when it's posted online ^_^

Oh and Lea just pubicly shamed XTina at Super Bowl

That's why Xtina screwed up so badly. When Lea hit her final note, Xtina realized she was following a better singer and got too nervous. :p

It's on Hulu right now, that's where I watched it.

That was quite good. The plot was insane in many respects, but Glee is at its best when things are like that (that kind of zany plotting only becomes problematic when the humour deserts and everything it Serious).

Weirdly, the best musical number of the evening was the Chevy commercial. The other musical numbers weren't bad, mind you, but the production and the old-fashioned commercial jingle worked marvelously (plus, the girls dressed in white).

Main niggle: the Warblers number was totally superfluous, in an episode that was otherwise pretty focussed. They should have given that screentime to the Cheerio girls' situation (Santana, in particular, had like four lines, total, and she should have been the most intractable one). Also, everybody was way too quick to warm up to Karofsky; he threatened to kill Kurt, and they have no idea about his big dark secret that will eventually be used to let him completely off the hook.

Sue was awesome this week, and I loved her well-deserved comeuppance. Katie Couric's cameo was perfect.

Will and Beiste continue to be an awesome duo.

Where did you see that? Every rating ive seen has been 13million.

And it really annoys me whenever Santana has somewhat of a main role in a song she is never really focused on. She always has to share the limelight.

I don't think Christina or Lea was all that good yesterday. As for who I think is the better singer? Christina.

I just think they have two completely different voices. And I enjoyed both yesterday.

I think considering how long Xtina's been at compared to Lea just makes it that much more embarrassing for her. I'm not American (thank god) so I didn't really get the big fuss over the lyrics she sang? I just generally don't like X-Tina since Back To Basics.

Best part of the entire night. Really makes me want the entire cast to star in a big budget Hollywood musical.

Chord, Naya, Jenna, and Heather look AMAZING. Lea is flawless.

I think Bieste is quickly becoming one of my most improved characters. I hope she sticks around for next year and becomes a regular. She definitely deserves such a spot over Mike O'Malley.

I'm liking Lauren more with every episode too.

I think the plotline with her will go: 1. Get drilled by Puck; 2. Get dumped and/or cheated on by Puck; and 3. Kick Puck's ass.

Maybe that's how we could wrap this cast up if they ever do graduate beyond the show. They can do a Glee movie with them in college to appease the fans of this cast.
