The Dark Knight Gotham City Pizzeria

That's pretty much how it is for me as well. It was the excitement that I finally got in on one of these IN TIME to actually have a chance to 'win', then waiting for my pie to come with something cool (and at that point I just thought it'd be a kickass BOX because no one had received their masks yet) and getting a plain box and later a 'oops we gave it to someone else' from the blasted dominos guy. And my friend getting a 'wtf are you talking about?' from her dominos girl. I don't really know if I blame anyone, I don't blame the people who may have gotten mine cuz they more than likely had no clue, I don't blame 42E, I guess I do blame the dominos people though haha. It seems to be the consensus that they are the ones that screwed up so I'll go with that.

actually, 42E should take all the blame. They should have known something like that could have happened, which it did happen to several people. People easily getting multiples (cheating the system) is something 42E should have also taken into account, which they didn't. It amazes me how they fail at these things to which can be advoided.

Good Luck hiddensymbols! Perhaps if you have luck I will have luck Thursday as well...;)

I'm so upset. They fumbled the promotion at the store I went to. I got the pizza and no package. I talked to the district area office and they had no clue what the website was about. The whole promotion was just handled piss poor. Thanks Domino's. :(

i keep thinking maybe this whole dominos thing was so horribly put together and executed because it was very last minute...

we had the jokerized trailer, and tried to pick apart every little thing looking for a clue. but it was right there in the open, "my hero". maybe since we never figured that part out, they quick came up with something to lead us to that, and to help tie in the basic promotion that will be starting next month.

just a thought..

Question: is this the full extent of the domino's promo?
Like, next month, will they mass market TDK there? Because I just really want one of those damn boxes. :cwink:

i have a friend that's a manager at dominos, he said they do have general promotion coming up, which is what the boxes are for. but he also mentioned that they would have more stuff coming in to distribute.

that actually makes alot of sense. i cant believe no one thought to try that, at least not that i saw on these boards

I totally disagree. 42E probably DID know. But there is no possible conceivable way that something with as many outside factors as an ARG can be 100% controlled by any company. Add to that the fact that 42E is relatively small...and they had to communicate with, what, 270 Domino's? That's more than five times the number of employees they may have. (I'm not sure exactly how many people they employ; they're pretty elusive.) And you forget that 42E is not completely in control of their own game. Warner Bros commissioned them; Warner Bros is their client, and therefore, Warner Bros can tell them what to do. I'm guessing that either they were instructed to tie this into one of their sponsors or that they saw an opportunity to offer a pretty unique promo. I have no doubt that if Warner Bros did not explicitly tell them to incorporate Domino's, they did explicitly tell them to incorporate a number of sponsors (Nokia and I think Verizon, for example).

But the real world is too unpredictable to be able to control every single aspect of the game. 42E did as much as they could to ensure that this would go glitch-free but, quite simply, they could not have a one-on-one chat with every single Domino's employee who may be able to screw up. I can't even imagine that they'd have the time to talk to every general manager of participating Domino's. If there was a miscommunication, it was likely between the higher-ups at Domino's failing to talk to the individual ones properly.

And as for the unfair distribution of participating Domino's...has it occurred to anybody that every Domino's was given the opportunity to participate (or a lot of them were), and some just said yes and others said no? Because nobody at 42E could accidentally make the mistake that there were more people in Indiana than Chicago (although to be fair, nobody picked up Aurora or Naperville, which is lame considering how many players there are in Chicagoland). This indeed does make it sadder that Domino's messed up so many times, because they probably specifically opted in or out...but there you have it.

I am nonplussed to think that you underestimate the intelligence of 42 Entertainment moreso than Domino's.

Yeah they've included us in other parts of the viral,
I wouldn't worry to much about the third gotham times, i'm pretty sure if you submitted your info during election week or for the gotham cable news batman sightings thing - you will likely be sent a few copies. I have faith that they're going to send them to Canada, as they have sent the others to participants here before.
there's still time yet :)

really? i submitted my info for the election and voted...haven't received a copy yet. fingers crossed that it'll come sometime this week.

man, I always miss out on the big stuff because it's quite a ways from where I live, and no one is here to take me, and I can't drive because they've taken all the cars! :cmad:

Awesome! :woot: Thanks for the info!

I hope I get one copy of the Times too, even being REALLY far away from the US. I loved to participate in the bowling ball hunt and in the it's all part of the plan game and getting a Joker card without having to buy it from someone else. And I also submitted my info for election and to GCN, so if they're sending something else, I hope I get it as well. Being so far away worries me, because I just never know when I am supposed to get my swag.

And I'm cool with parts of the game taking place in the US only. It doesn't mean I wouldn't love if all parts of the virals took place everywhere on the planet, allowing every fan around the globe to participate. I just hope that there is a big final game and that all of us who have been following everything from day 1 (or sort of) can join in. :woot:

Once again I'm married to the best wife in the world. I asked her to stop by a Domino's on her way home from her parents(about an hour away). She called me to say that they had some of the boxes, but weren't allowed to give any away until the 30th. But when she got home she handed over 2 of them! She pleaded and demanded that I get one. She told the guy about my swag and escapades to Dallas. Evidently it was enough to swindle 2 boxes! ;) Man, I LOVE HER! :D I got the gauntlets and belt, they didn't have any others. I'm not complaining! Hehehehe :)

Hold up- people DID try to pick up Aurora and Naperville....the Domino's screwed them over. Ask vlkers....

You think Chicago folks weren't mad, even that the burbs locations weren't accessible?

yea there are tons of us clowns here in Sacramento,ca
Are mad because the only cities for ca were REALLY random cities in the cuts rather than the big cities like here (sacramento), LA, San Diego, and San Francisco

Ah! Well in that case I revoke my previous statement. That does blow. But I know how it is to be screwed by Domino's, because I got screwed out of my package, too.

But I think that's what explains it. I mean it doesn't make sense to me that there'd be Aurora and Naperville but nothing in Chicago...and that there'd be three times as many pizzas available in Indiana as in Illinois...and that there'd be 12 pizzas in Arizona, but 7 in California? Or one in Missouri in Webb City (which I've never even heard of) when Kansas City is always included in the virals? It's so arbitrary and poorly placed that I have to imagine it was the decision of independent locations. It's not unreasonable--I mean 42E can't force any company into doing anything if they don't want to do it. The other games were on a smaller scale and usually didn't involve the participation of other companies (excluding WB)...and when they did, like the bowling alleys and the bakeries and the movie theaters, there were only a few--nothing like 270 (and even then things went wrong because of incompetent employees at given places or greedy little jerks).

But, sucks that you guys had problems also. I think the thing 42E may not have considered seriously, and I wouldn't have, was the average intelligence of a Domino's employee. Now that I think about it, it's shocking how many people DID get their stuff.

It'll take time of course lol, can't expect people in places outside of America to necessarily get stuff so easily and quickly. It WILL come though, maybe this week, maybe next week. It'll come eventually :p

i'm a woman and was wondering is whether or not zardoz would be considered the "winner" for the pizza he mentioned ordering. since the locations turned "red" not just once the confirmation # was called, but once the winner had been determined.. in the case of the LA pizza anyway.

i called all of the sites, and three (Brawley, Antioch and Granada Hills) had the masks still, stating there was no winner yet. the antioch guy was pretty ******ed, and the granada hills manager gave me a ton of info, but not what i needed. The girl in Brawley told me what to do, so i did. When i logged into BRAWLEY, i got the "congratulations, a pizza is available in your area" or whatever the message was... anyhow, it redirected me to dominos pizza online. i was in the check out section when my works "websense" blocked me :( it sucked. b

i got into the dominos online ordering for the free pizza for BRAWLEY before the site turned red. My works "websense" blocked me from completing the order. i couldn't do anything but sit back and watch all the dots turn red :(
