Graw 2

Word, UBIsoft was putting them out so fast that there wasn't a huge leap.

Yeah, I'm glad they're taking their time with Splinter Cell, so it can take that next leap instead of just rushing out another sequel, although I do wish the were releasing a new Rainbow Six this year as they didn't finish the story for that game, it's still at a stage where they don't need to reinvent the franchise yet.

I'd actually like to see Rainbow Six return to it's roots.

Damn straight!

I think they should keep the R6 Vegas model as a separate spinoff franchise for those unsophisticated, uncultured simpleton shooter crowd ( :o ) but it's high time Rainbow Six go back to what made the series' name known in the first place - an incredibly extensive and realistic strategic/tactical shooter.

Without sounding like an elitist, you're totally right. I liked the open level design and strong "mission plan" integration of the earlier R6 titles. Having them taken out in favor of the "streamlined" system didn't feel so much like an improvement as it did a way to just make it easier to cut design corners and making linear levels.

Rainbow Six as in the original PC Rainbow Six?

Count me in!

Vegas kicks ass though (at least what little I played :()

It was also good because you didn't need the CD so your friends could just pass it around. :D

I didn't completely hate PC gaming, now that I remember

I love:

R6
King's Quest (all of them)
Indy Jones & Fate of Atlantis
Monkey Island
Blood (haha yeah, awesome)

And many more.

Man, they should really make more point'n click adventure games. The Monkey Island and Broken Sword games were awesome. :(

I thoroughly enjoyed the Kings Quest series. Even 8, which wasn't so well received by fans or commercially.

It was in that awkward phase where 3D was just coming around. :(

Hey WHF, didn't you post a link to a site earlier on this board which allowed you to download System Shock 2? Damn Bioshock only made me crave SS2 more and more and now I can't find it anywhere. :(

You also may not want to know this, but I will tell you anyway:

EALA is working on System Shock 3. It will probably feature Snoop Dog in some way and have McDonald's advertisements plastered all over the spaceship. :(

Salt...wounds...:cmad: :cmad: :cmad:

System Shock 3 can't be allowed to exist if that's how they'll make it.

I forgot to mention that instead of Deus-Ex styled gameplay, the dev team is opting for more of an "Action Platformer" game like the Marc Ecko game, where you have to tag (shock) systems (gang territory).

i wish they would bring counter-strike (the orignal not source) to the 360 but really update the graphics and add a few new elements but still keep it the same game. i remember a worker at gamestop told me something like that was going to be in the orange box a few months ago. what a liar.

Broken Sword!
I never played that one :(

Ahh....here's a cool one that I just LOVED :D

Man, I should see if I can download it from somewhere :(

I remember the first Broken Sword. I just kind of randomly saw it and was one of the few times where I knew nothing about the game, how well it was reviewed, or if it was any good, and just bought it. Its a great game. I still have to play the other 2.

Agreed. As someone said, keep the New Rainbow Six game more as a spin-off...and then go back to their roots. Highly tactical, highly planned, and highly realistic anti-terrorist crack-downs. I used to love it....planning my root before I enter...saying whos goes where, who follows who etc.

And Ive also seen Broken Sword mentioned.....Absolutely amazing game....They should make another one exactly the same as the first two...animation was excellent, and I loved the gameplay!!!!!!!!!! I felt like I was always in danger, but was a second away from finding out something big at any point in that game.
