I would like to know if there is there is an unspoken limit on the number of posts one can make in a row in the same thread in...say a half hour period before being considered excessive. Sorry for that run-on. What if this posting behavior happens repeatedly in different threads? Is this okay?

Unless it's a lot of really short posts only consisting of a few letters or the same thing just copied multiple times in multiple places then as long as it adds something to the conversation then it's fine.

But usually it's preferred that you use a single post to respond to people as opposed to using several to respond individually. It just looks nicer. :p

If it's found you're considered to be spamming then the mods will warn you off the behavior before handing out infractions, unless you really cheese them off.

if it's a discussion thread, i don't really see why someone would have excessive posts in a row. when i think excessive, i think 4 or more.

we have a quote feature, and we have a multi-quote feature as well. if someone is doing neither of those things, and just posting, i would wager they're trying to boost their post count and are essentially spamming. it's very easy to edit your post and add to it.

if someone is doing this, please report it or let one of us know. we definitely don't want it to detract from the thread
