Great Actors and the Heroes/Villains They Should Be Portraying

JAMES GORDON - KYLE CHANDLER (THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, SUPER 8)

Very underrated actor. I was thinking about picking Ethan Hawke for this role originally, but I think that Chandler is a much fresher face for the role of James Gordon, especially since Hawke has already played a cop in about two or more other movies, and especially since Chandler always brings real authority to his roles (he's fantastic in The Wolf of Wall Street). He's a very respectable actor and somebody you can easily count on for delivering a great performance.

Both Ethan Hawke and Kyle Chandler are great choices. They really don't get brought up a lot for this role. Ethan Hawke is one of my main choices for a Gordon who is around this new universe's Batman's age. :lips:

You know, I could get behind Bryan Cranston as Commissioner Gordon, but it seems like it's just going to be another repeat of Cranston as Lex Luthor.

Overall though I like these castings and your picks. There are a couple of people I don't know but these castings are a lot more exciting then seeing the same actors brought up for the same role which is usually the norm around here...

For an older and more grizzled Gordon, John Hawkes is my pick. He's an extremely underrated actor and a late-bloomer so I could see him showing interest in a franchise to get his name attached too.

Fantastic choice. Loved John Hawke's performance in Winter's Bone and he's awesome in Eastbound & Down.

THE FLASH/BARRY ALLEN - SCOOT MCNAIRY (NON-STOP, ARGO)

Slowly beginning to make a name for himself, this is an actor to keep an eye out for and I think he'd be phenomenal as The Flash because he's a fresh face and he's always delivered subtle, but strong performances in his movies. I'd like to see him play The Flash because of his charisma, he reminds me of Sharlto Copley in terms of up-and-coming actors who are awaiting their breakout roles, and the fact that he seems like a genuinely intelligent and respectable guy, exactly what you need in a guy like Barry Allen (he was great in Killing Them Softly and Monsters as well).

Too old for Flash I think.

Maybe, but they could always get the Wally West character in there when the time is right. Plus, it seems like most of the actors they've hired for these roles, besides the actress playing Wonder Woman, are nearing their middle-ages. I could see them getting someone like Bradley Cooper, which I wouldn't mind (especially if they paired him back up with his Limitless director), but I wouldn't be surprised if they're looking for a less familiar face instead (as with Henry Cavill and Chris Hemsworth).

I'd like to see John Hawkes mentioned above as Gordon or Stephen Strange or Mysterio.

Olga Kurylenko for Silver Sable.

Javier Bardem as Kraven the Hunter

Bryan Cranston as Mr Freeze

David Morrisey as Kingpin

Jeff Bridges as Deathstroke

Tom Hanks as Commisioner Gordon

Richard Armitage as Doctor Strange

Stephen Lang as Magneto

Jai Courtney as Venom

Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Cable

Steve Carrel as The Riddler
(Now before you call me crazy, remember that many comedic actors (including former Batman Michael Keaton) have successfully made the transition from comedy to drama. Carrel I feel has the right voice and mannerisms for the role and if given the chance, could pull off an interesting performance to say the least)

Kevin Spacey as Doc Ock

Benedict Cumberbatch as Apocalypse

This is already in my signature, but I'll post it here too.

I would love, love, LOVE to see Ian McShane (Deadwood, Pirates 4) play Dr. Robotnik in Columbia Pictures upcoming live-action movie of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Edit: Oh, I see this topic is in the Misc. Comics Films section. My bad. I blindly clicked a link in someone's signature. (Well, Sonic does have a comic-book series if that counts)

J. JONAH JAMESON - MICHAEL SHANNON (MAN OF STEEL, PREMIUM RUSH)

Shannon's a very funny actor, if you haven't seen Premium Rush yet, go watch it, because he makes it much more than your usual cat-and-mouse chase movie. His energy is electric and he never fails with delivering solid performances in his wide variety of movies. Personally, I'm still waiting for the day when Quentin Tarantino casts him in a movie. But, until then, why not let him become the one and only JJJ? I've been thinking about him in the role for quite some time now and the more I think about how awesome he could be, the more amazed I get that I haven't heard people discussing him in this iconic role.
