Superhero films should not be 100% Dark and Moody

I don’t actually think that the Dark Knight trilogy was “100% dark.” Those films were serious fare, but throughout them Bruce talked about being a symbol and inspiring others. The character himself was trying to bring light into a dark situation. As Gordon points out, he is a silent guardian and a watchful protector. Those are not necessarily dark concepts. His primary clashing contrast with the Joker revolves around the fact that the Joker embraced the inherent evil in humanity and wanted to bring the nihilism to the surface. Batman on the other hand retained faith in people.

In many ways, Bruce’s refusal to doubt the promise in humanity in the face of the darkness makes him light years more bright than Snyder’s Superman.

If I could frame this quote, I would. Well said, my friend.

Must have super-hero landing capability as well.
