Green Lantern movie: "Emerald Dawn" or "Secret Origins"?

Actually from what we know its more based off emerald dawn series but in recent interviews with the writers the say later drafts might have some secret origins ties to it too.

It has elements of both. It shouldn't be a direct adaptation of either in my opinion anyway, both have their merits.

Legion as the villain is straight from Emerald Dawn, as is the moment when Hal enters the central power battery towards the climax.

His friendship with Sinestro, and tying Hector Hammond's origin to something from Abin Sur's ship is from Secret Origins.

There are even some visual cues from Emeral Twilight. So they are cherry picking from the GL highlights.

and that is how you should make a comic movie IMO

I would say take elements from both. That's the best way to go. Look GL's best comics and take elements from all of them that fit the movie.

Yes. He's being tied into the new storyline as being I think basically the head of the Red Lantern Corp.

Yeah he is the Brute of the Red Lanterns which would essentially make him the head of them because who better to lead RAGE, than a brute.

The Legion they use in the script looks different, he's much more powerful and he's similar in origin to parallax. Essentially, he's not the same character, though I'll admit I don't remember Emerald Dawn all that well. Why was he chosen as the villain?

Both excellent stories, but right now....Secret Origins is excellent reading material and I would hope they add elements from Secret Origins to the final draft.

I think they're willing to introduce Parallax on the following movies and want to tie it to something to make it sense like it's one big story in three acts. But i still think they should go back to the REAL Legion. A golden armor controlled by a colective mind of millions of dead insectoid aliens holding a grudge is something that works. We'll, the first draft that we've read was finished days before "Secret Origins" was published, so, they can add some elements of it in the second draft. Even add Atrocitus if they will.

And i think that "Emerald Dawn" and "Secret Origins" combined would create the best Green Lantern movie ever! "ED" plot (Hal Jordan receives the ring of the deceased Green Lantern of sector 2814 to stop the revengefull Legion) with some of "SO" moments (The Jordan's dynamic, Hal's relationships with Carol and Sinestro, the meeting with the Guardians) would by sure render a big boxoffice!

It would surpass "The Dark Knigh"
