Green Lantern: The Animated Series

This episodes ("Lost Planet") is one of my favorite episodes so far, I hope that we see Saint Walker again, and the final revelation of Mogo was nice but I was kind of expecting it.

Also, I was wondering that eventually Razer's red lantern ring will get depleted and as he loses his rage it will not get any charge, so what will he become ?

Saint Walker will be back, at least judging by the statue released of him in full BL gear.

And rumor has it Razer
will go green eventually.

I liked Saint Walker in the recent episode. I don't really follow the GL comics that closely (I've only read Secret Origin, Sinestro Corps War, and Blackest Night), is this how Saint Walker is usually portrayed in the comics?

Plus, I like and prefer Mogo's new look in the series with a "saturn" ring in the form of a Green Lantern ring.

Saint Walker's not quite the nimble acrobat that he is in the show. But they got his vague hopeful speech right.

Thanks!

I really hope this show goes on for at least another season. It seems like they have a bunch of storylines from the comics planned ....

Another great episode, I'm starting to wonder if this series is more about Razer than it is Hal Jordan.

That's what I'm think as it could be more about Razer and Aya than Hal Jordan and Kilowog. I don't expect Razer to be featured in the next episode.

After watching the latest episode, I had a feeling Atrocitus has something to do with the death of Razer's wife the minute the Red Lantern ring appeared. Hal's leadership is starting to come through and I like it when he chewed Razer in the end. This is what qualifies Hal as a JLA founder.

Aya was pretty useful to the team until she got ripped apart by Atrocitus. I hope they have her in action in the next episode.

Wouldn't it make more sense for Aya to take on a hard light form when she wants to leave the ship? Kind of like the Orange Lanterns. The GL mythos is based around light afterall.

Absolutely loved seeing Atrocitus in action, prob my fav episode so far. Loved seeing Kilawog break away from that boring hammer and pull out the gatling guns too.

Yeah, the different designs were quite nice, I'm actually surprised I had to find this show 2 pages back. I honestly have yet to see a poor episode, there extremely well done and the animation has really impressed me especially considering I was HIGHLY skeptical when I first saw the first clip.

I really do hope this show revolves more around Razer. He's way more interesting than Hal, I've always felt Hal was a great supporting leader character.

I really liked the history of the "red" lanterns too that was told. It gives them a viable reason for existing, having never read the comics, I don't know how true it is, but if it is true, it does shed a different "light" :cwink::cwink: on things.

I loved the "brass knuckle" construct that Hal used on that one Red Lantern because its such in character for him to come up with something like that. :woot:

I loved this episode. Another home run for Bruce Timm and crew. Kind of bugged me when the Red Lantern oath was changed but eh. This one sounds good too. Still miss "Ripped from a corpse so freshly dead" but you can see why that had to be changed for a cartoon. lol

The origin is unchanged, though. I can't wait to see the Manhunters on this show.

I'm really liking this story but I'm still not sold on the animation. The characters look a little Doughey and environments look a little sparse. Nothing I can't get past of course.

This show is just great and I love the way it is developing with every episode.

I'm surprised there isn't more talk about this show, honestly it's really good, and I have to imagine it's the animation that turns people off, as it did me, but once you get through the first episode, it feels like the animation choice was right for the style/theme/atmosphere for the show.

How many episodes did this get?

SAME WITH AVENGERS:EMH, I LOVE BOTH SHOWS JUST HAD TO GET PAST THE ANIMATION. IM REALLY LIKING THE DEVELOPING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN RAZER AND AYA. THAT LITTLE THROWAWAY LINE "I'LL GO BACK FOR THE COMPU....BACK FOR AYA." WAS GREAT

The new episode "Reckoning" provided some detailed look of the Red Lantern Corps and their world.

It was a great episode as usual, I feel that slowly they will build up a greater story arc, and introduce more characters from GL mythos.

This series surprises me and continues to get better and better. Aya is among my favorite.

Holy crap, they're working in this fear thing really well. Sinestro's appearance will be epic.

I've also come to the conclusion that 3D animation was the best choice for this show. I'm having trouble imagining myself enjoying these stories with traditional animation or with live action actors via Star Trek. Something about this style just makes this show work really well. If this was typical DCAU style there would probably be a lot of complaints about this show moving too slowly but the 3D animation makes sure that it's always visually engaging even when they're just eating breakfast.

I also love the humor. Come to think of it, cheese probably WOULD be pretty disgusting to foreign cultures. :woot:

Totally agree. The 3-D animation suits it.

I was wondering if the decision to introduce the Red Lanterns and hold off on Sinestro was good. No doubt about it. I wonder how they'll bring it all together with the yellow crystals, Sinestro, his Corps, etc. Next season should be a fun ride.

Fear Itself shows Hal Jordan and Kilowog learning more about how the yellow stuff affects their rings as it foreshadows the coming of Sinestro and perhaps the Sinestro Corps. Both Jordan and Kilowog are searching for food while they end up on opposite sides involving a tribal race that look similar to Kilowog and a organic jelly miners. I thought the tribal race were going to be exposed as being evil, but I'm glad that wasn't the case. The fight between Hal and Kilowog was good. Meanwhile, since Razer got focus in the last episode he didn't get much focus in this one as he tries to recharge his Red Lantern ring while trying to push Aya away from him. Aya is still nursing injuries from the last episode. While we got to see Kilowog's fears, we didn't see Hal's. I'm wondering if Hal is not the focus of the series. Otherwise, good episode.

Yeah, they have to be saving Hal's fears for later cause this is the second time they avoided it. I'm guessing that'll be an episode unto itself. Could be next week since Carol shows up. Though they'll probably just focus on how she went from regular Carol Ferris to friggin Star Sapphire in, what's it been? Like 8 episodes?

8 episodes since we last saw Carol Ferris. It may not be a happy reunion between Hal and Carol.
