Green Lantern: The Animated Series

I'm sure Sinestro will show up at some point; he's the signature GL antagonist after all, the Joker/Lex Luthor/Magneto of the franchise. For him not to show up is like any one of the 3 previous mentioned names not showing up.

I liked everything about this episode except the fight between Hal and Atrocitus, it was almost as if they suddenly realized that the episode's time was running out so they took the shortcut.

The main high points were -

Saint Walker as Blue Lantern fighting along with Mogo and kilowog.

Star Sapphires helping Hal and Razer to reach Oa.

Aya shows emotions like Humans.

Overall a good finale, but it could have been much better. Looking forward to the start of the next season, hope that they show more GL corps and continue with Aaya and Razer as supporting cast.

Very Good Half-Season finale. B+
Wish it had been another 10 minutes longer. Some of the scenes seem a little squeeze for time.

One question. I thought Hal's power lantern was transform into the Blue Lantern Battery.
But in the finale its shown that Hal has a battery in his locker on earth.
Does Hal have two power batteries?

Each GL's powers rings are assigned to the chosen GLs, but power batteries are common, meaning that GL's can have more than one power battery, and they can give their Battery to other GL's.

Hal was able to charge his ring using Ship's power battery, so any power battery can be used to charge up the ring.

I think that Hal had kept his power battery at Ferris air base on Earth, and taken another power battery with him on the ship which was an experimental power battery (as Ganthet had told Sayd in the opening before he was exiled from Oa, that Battery was capable of turning into a Blue Lantern Power battery, which finds Saint Walker.)

(Note: In GL comics, power batteries are kept in a unique pocket dimension, so that GLs can retrieve them no matter where they are in the Universe.)

I guess they didn't bother with the pocket dimension thing because of that exact plot development. The GLs are pretty powered down in this show. For one they never needed a ship to travel at insane speeds. I'm cool with it, though, because it has made for terrific storytelling.

I thought today was suppose to be a new episode? Instead we get a rerun?

Green Lantern is on hiatus. I'm glad they're re-airing the first part of the pilot episode as I plan to re-record it.

you clearly don't get it. There are no more episodes. You don't call a show on hiatus when they've aired all of a season. It's in between seasons. It is not on hiatus.

They're only airing reruns to fill air space for Cartoon Network, not filling time until they start airing more Green Lantern. Because there is no more, at least until next season.

I know that there are no new episodes and I'm well aware that they're rerunning the first season, but until there's new episodes the show is on hiatus. I wasn't addressing or attacking you in the first place. Stop interjecting yourself.

If it was on hiatus it wouldn't be on at all.

Reruns or no.

Season ended. This is just reruns until Beware the Batman starts up I'm assuming, then that will probably take it's time slot, until next season starts up.

I think the show is OK but its not my favorite considering how long I waited to see a Hal Jordan GL series. I mean it's well made and pretty well written, but I still think Keaton is miscast as Hal Jordan. When I hear his Hal it doesn't sound like Hal to me. It sounds more like what I think Kyle Rayner should probably sound like. To me Ben Browder or Mark Valley have a voice more similar to how I think Hal Jordan should sound.

Also I still don't like the CG animation and designs. Some of it looks alright to me, but I think I would've preferred a show more in line with how Young Justice looks for this series. The designs did improve from the initial footage but now it just looks so jarring to me. They look too plastic and stiff to me.

I think they need to incorporate more of the Corps. We only really got two GLs the entire season, Hal and Kilowog. That's not counting the new ones like the Princess or Mogo. I'd love to see Toma-Re, Ch'p. Even more Earth Lanterns. I bet Guy would be awesome in this show.

Yeah, I think there worried about pacing, if you show all the characters, people don't have anything to look forward too.

I like Josh Keaton as Hal but part of me wishes Nolan North, who voiced Hal in "Crisis on 2 Earths", had gotten to voice him here. North's vocals suited Hal a Hell of a lot more than Superman and/or Superboy from YJ.

Nolan North is too overexposed to me I rather have Nathan Fillion from Emerald night reprise his role if I had a choice

As awesome as Nathan Fillion is he probably isn't available to record a regular animated series.

I was happy with the Finale. Can't believe I lasted the entire season considering I despise the CGI animation, but i thought the storytelling was solid throughout which is why I stuck. I'll be looking forward to the second season.

So, I only watched the Premiere when it aired a couple months ago and totally forgot about this. Caught up with the remaining 11 Episodes in one sitting and all I can say is, I'm totally looking forward to Season 2. It's just great stuff.

Hope we get more of Carol Ferris (and more of Carol as Star Sapphire) in season 2. Jennifer Hale brings such great bite to the character that it's a shame she spent most of season 1 on the sidelines.

I am looking forward to Young Justice and Green Lantern The Animated Series more than the new animated Beware The Batman.

Why Cartoon Network are starting the BTB now ?
