The only bad thing in this movie was the CGI.

The Director did a good job for the most part. Didn't get the best acting out of his actors, but no one here was truly bad. The music felt like it belonged in the film. It did its job and nothing more. The set design was okay in some parts and TV like in others.

The movie was somewhat different from the poem. In this version, our hero Beowulf has this primitive high-tech bow and arrow. It actually has a sniper scope on it. The arrows shoot out of it with this blue light...exploding on impact once it hits something. A little high-tech for the time period.

Overall, a 8/10.

I...I didn't tune in.

I didn't watch it either. From my undertstanding pretty much every movie ever made about grendel or beowulf has sucked.

A Sci-Fi Channel movie that doesn't suck? NO!

Is this the one with Christopher Lambert and Rhona Mitra?

best sci-fi channel movie isnt saying much lol. I dont think that channel has ever made a good original movie.

It has made a few actually. I liked Dino-Croc.

And that series TAKEN. :cwink:

Damn, I almost watched it but then was like "Oh it will probabaly suck." Is it on again?

no...The Best Sci-fi Channel film is Battlestar Galactica.
I watched a bit of Grendel, then changed the channel. It was bad.

I didn't even know they made that. I don't have Sci-Fi right now, but my Bro does. At first when I saw the title I though it was for the comic book.

I can't wait for Zemeckis' Beowulf to be released, so all of these crappy movies that make the legend of Beowulf looks like a joke not matter and fade into nothingness.

It was an O.k. movie but if they just followed the original story instead of trying to re-make it, it would be a lot better. The CGI was pretty bad but as far as a Sci-Fi movie goes it was one of the better ones. I liked the Beowulf and Grendel movie with Gerard Butler better than this one.

There's only one Grendel for me

if this is the Beowulf with Christopher Lambert then i must say...

...even sci-fi HAS to have aired a better movie than THAT!

I watched maybe 5 minutes of this movie.....

.....and it didn't latch on to me. Besides, football was on.

I thought the Beowulf story sucked in high school but it's been awhile so I thought I would check out Grendl on sci-fi. When I clicked it on it just happened to be showing Grendl. That was kind of intresting but the cgi did blow. After that it got pretty damn boring and I changed the channel 20 minutes later. Let's see if the Beowulf theatrical release is any better.

That alone completely turns me off from it.
