IT IS New York (although liberty city was based on NYC), and IT IS a russian. cant say whether the game is gonna be amazing or not, as it depends on what different types of terrain they cover of NYC. Will it extend outside the city centre. San Andreas WAS amazing because of the different environments...I loved riding my bike on those country lanes...I some how feel I wont get that same great experience in NYC City. After giving us the desert, and big forests in San Andreas, how can they fit this into New York?????
Another issue I have with it being New York, is I've played TrueCrime: New York, and Im scared driving around in GTA IV wont feel like a new fresh experience.

IGN seem to think its New York....either way, the Roackstar seems to have the license to portray a likeness...They have enough NYC landmarks!

He's definantly Eastern European.
And It's definantly Liberty City, Just completely redesigned.
It looks so damn real, it's mind bottling.

bc I dont want a 360. I was always gonna get a PS3, it was just a matter of when. Come fall its gonna be tough choice to either get a PS3 just in time for GTA4 or wait bc I defiently think there will be some type of upgraded PS3 to either add rumble or combat the 360's Elite either with a price drop or included accesories. That would most likely happen right before Christmas

well, the city looks great, let's just see if they can give it more life... make it act more, natural, y'know? maybe have more than 6 different types of pedestrians? that kind of stuff?
oh well, i'm buying it day one anyway, it really does look fantastic, from what little we've seen so far.
are we really playing as an arab though? that'll ruffle a few feathers (which is what i'm guessing they're going for. making this game notorious guarantees better sales)

This could be the first GTA game that wins me over, all the others were ultimately too cartoony for me to be grounded or immersed in what was going on.
The tone of this one seems so much more real and serious. The graphics just look fantastic and they're paying much more attention to detail with GTA IV then was ever possible on the other games. It's like the hardware has finally caught up to the vision opf the game.
Premature? Maybe, but it looks a heck of a lot more encouraging then the previous games.
