GUNDAMS anyone?

Robert Rodriguez is ok, if he were to direct a huge project such as this, then it'll be a chance of a lifetime for him to express his artistic ideas about the franchise. I would like Roland Emerich to direct it though, he's amazing when it comes to destruction stuff. I'm thinking based on the anime the Gundams can level cities in minutes with the armaments they have plus those wicked laser blasts that is reminescent of a nuclear explosion.

Well, Gundam is a pretty diverse franchise, it's either a war epic or super robots. Well, actually some shows start out war epics and end up with super robots.

Still, when it comes to adaption, I think it could catch on, if done properly.

They just need to do the classic Earth Federation vs rogue space nation.

I agree. Keeping the storyline simple will work just like with any other successful films out there. Maybe they can explore the possibilities when sequels are planned.

Ideally, I would suggest three movies with that theme (Earth vs evil space faction), and then if that works, three more some years later with a theme like in Zeta Gundam, where the factions get thrown upside down. Then quit while ahead.

How do you mean? Like the film makers quit while the movie makes big bucks or something? Or did I misunderstand what you said? Sorry.

Well, I think you should stop a franchise at a good point, rather than jump the shark (or nuking the fridge). Don't make unnecessary sequels. Gundam has had a number of unnecessary sequels.

I like Rodriguez to direct a film like this.....Or Micheal Mann.

Good point! I'd rather walk away as the champ than keep the hype up and lose my title in the long run. Besides if you give the audience more than what they want, they'll be so sick of that thing. Micheal Mann....hmmm...not bad!

i think it would have to be a dark war drama to be taken seriously. action scenes in the same vien as Black Hawk Down but with the look and feel of blade runner or 2001: a space oddesy
