Guy Ritchie’s Spy Thriller ‘Operation Fortune’ | Jason Statham

I love Ritchie, and this looks so good.

It seems the last decade doing bad blockbusters has finally paid off to make movies like this.

One would hope. Ritchie has had such a strange career trajectory. I had almost given up on him after that horrid King Arthur movie. But he pulled me back in with The Gentlemen. And Snatch is in my top 5 favorite films of all time so I have to give anything he does that involves funny British criminals a chance.

So this was moved from January to March and has now been removed from schedule again with no other date given. It smells like a streaming deal, which I hope is not the case.

I saw it in January and it was a blast. My understanding is it got pushed back a whole year from last March because it features a couple of bad guys of Ukranian heritage. If true it's utterly idiotic.

I'm sold! Looks promising so far. Also, Statham and Plaza is a movie couple I didn't know I wanted, but now I do. They look surprisingly good together, and I actually kinda want to see them "get it on" in the movie. :hehe:

Aubrey Plaza is great in everything. She’s really having a moment right now and I am here for it.

Saw this the other day, 7/10 for me.

Although I've seen a few of Guy Ritchie's movies, I don't follow his stuff as much as I do with other directors, and I wouldn't call myself a super fan of his. But that said, this was pretty much what I was expecting from the trailer and was a solid enjoyable flick that had a lot of quippy humor and some action setpieces. I'd sorta call it his version of The Italian Job (in a sense) because that's kinda what it felt like at times with its tone.

Aubrey Plaza's hair and outfits in this movie were definitely a standout too - and by that I mean she looked dang sexy with some of the dresses she wore. She's not even my type but I thought she was hot in this movie - definitely the hottest I've ever seen her, to be honest. :o

I barely managed to get through 40 mins of this, then switched it off.

Tiny bit better than Ritchie's last (Wrath of Man), but that doesn't really mean much.

A boring and unexciting slog.
