You know, I would like to join in but I have a crappy sound recording capability that distorts my voice when I record it. If you could do it live I could be persuaded to join in.

I would like to but... I'm a terrible singer, so um, no.

Has the cut-off date to sign up passed? I want to embarrass the hell out of myself this season.

Definitely not! I'll make everyone aware when sign-ups are over. The more people willing to embarrass the hell out of themselves, the better.

Speaking of which... big, bold announcement time!

To all of those intending on participating - the game has not yet started (and probably won't for a while,) but that doesn't mean you can't start warming up those vocal chords! You are welcome to record your 'audition' song at any time before the deadline. And, well, there is no deadline yet, so, you have a ton of time. Just remember that the song you choose must not violate any of the Hype! rules.

So... I shouldn't sing "Erotic City" by Prince?

Is there a specific "theme" for audition songs? Or can it literally be ANY song? (that follows the rules, of course)

I can't decide who to butcher first: Dru Hill, Donell Jones, or Robin Thicke.

Anyone of you know of a good site for downloading instrumental songs? Also if the rock band mic is any good for recording because that's the only one I have:o

has anyone considered recording it on their cell phones and then uploading it?

you can record it, email it to your computer and the upload to putfile/zshare/etc

also, if this game needs some graphics or banners, someone lemme know.

What are the rules for our recordings, anyway? Are we allowed to use background music, or are we doing this a capella? Can we record using multiple tracks? Because I'm an R&B head, and those songs are notorious for ad-libs being sung over the chorus.

You're allowed to use a backing track (or any other means of using an instrumental) or perform a song a capella.

Im on the Drakon Needs to Join Hype Idol campaign. please reconsider!
