i searched, but didn't find anything on these quirky, yet deep little japanese poems. they're so much fun, and so easy to write. you almost always come up with something that sounds very deep and meaningful, even if you didn't mean to. quite unlike more 'traditional' forms of poetry, which often come across as really gay and/or emo, because, well, most people just suck at it, but think they're actually good.
i find myself counting syllables sometimes in my head, seeing what phrases or events in my day i can squeeze into the parameters.
for those who don't know, its 3 lines: 5 syllables, then 7, then 5 again.
so, um... yeah. anyone else do these?
