What do you think is pretentious?

    I was with a friend today and he brought along this other friend who I hadn't met. And we're sitting in my friends car, and this guy takes out his mobile phone, and he starts playing these sound clips of himself playing guitar and singing. And he's just sitting there, with this cocky grin on his face. And he's saying stuff like "yeah... yeah, what do you think of that riff there??". And my friend says "that's better than the last one".

    Then the guy shows me pictures on his phone. Real posery guy. You know, like one of those emo guys?? With his hair like so, giving the camera a moody look, putting his arm across his chest and onto his shoulder. One of the pics was black and white.

    Then, he plays sound clips of him and his friends doing songs joking around. It was all choreographed, with some of them humming, some of them banging stuff, and crap like that. One of the songs one of them was just shouting over and over through the whole thing "KEVEN BACON! KEVIN BACON!". And I'm sitting there thinking, that isn't funny, that's just stupid.

    Is it just me or is this guy full of himself? I hate guys like this.

    Yeah... um... replace "friend" with Vicki, and "guy I haven't met" with Dan, who I've met about 4 or 5 times now.

    So... what experiences with pretentious *******s have you had?

    It was pretty funny, 'cause I was doing such a half assed job of humoring the guy, and Vicki could totally tell I despise him.

    I've made alot of progress actually. I hardly think about her anymore. I just wanted to talk about what a pretentious ******* Dan is, and guys like him.

    In the now less than likely event that you haven't just been putting us on this whole time with a super pretentious ultra ironic and utterly ignorant dickhole fake intenet persona, then the answer is not very. Does he sound lame? Probably. But when deciding whether or not he's pretentious, I can't help but compare him to the person who's judging him, which is you. By that comparison, no, he's not, because you're so unrighteously pretentious it makes my head spin.

    I think it's sorta pointless to argue about whether or not I'm "fake". You either believe me or you don't. The reason that I post this stuff about myself is because it amuses me to do so, I have a weird sense of humor that way. What's it called? Self something or other. Anyway... yeah... nothing I have ever said has ever been very out there or bizarre.

    Yeah, I know an ****** like that, who's also emo. Funny huh? Well, this guy used to go out with my girlfriend, and dumped her and made her feel like **** (this was before I met her). So he now goes out with my other friend who's totally loved up and you can tell he doesn't love her. It saddens me, it really does. He is very pretentious with his body building and his pink hair and his "poetry". I talked to him once. He though he owned everything in the room. Then I just owned him in a conversation and lowered his self-esteem. I felt really good after it. He's just one of these guys that think they're something when they're not and you want to punch in the face.

    Do you have any logical reason for thinking I am a liar? Evidence? Perhaps I have contradicted myself?

    I am not a liar and do not like being called one. As far as I can see, you're just assuming I'm a liar. Who knows why.

    If you have nothing useful to say on the subject of whether or not I am a liar, then I am just going to continue as normal.

    Because you're such a ridiculous caricature of a personality. Last thread you topped your list of a**hole qualities by being super pretentious and judgemental, and now you come out with a "What do you think is pretentious?" thread, which, big surprise, works in everyone's favorite couple to make fun of. I think you're just satire. If you're not, then you're really a piece of work. In the same way that creatively pooped dogs**t is a piece of work.
