Halloween Dilemma

Well if they (the amputees and little people) have no problem with it, than go for it.
Yeah. I say do it, Hobbit.:hyper:

that'd be awesome. as said above, there are talent agencies for this. I give you the green light :)

I'm an amputee, and if I lived near the woods of Hollow, I'd be over there for free, providing there was food.

You do realize that, with the help of an amputee and your special effects friends, you have the perfect opportunity to pull off one hell of a "magic trick gone horribly, horribly wrong" stunt. A prosthetic limb, an ample supply of blood squibs, and a rusty saw.....oh, the possibilities!!!!

Note: If you actually do this, you have to let me come to the party just so I can see it!

jag

Done it.

EDIT--Damnit, Dewbie beat me to the punch.

Well, it was more like a mad scientist's lab thing. We gave me a log leg, dressed it up in my pants and stuff, and we would either have it so that kids would see me getting beat to death with my own leg, or something close to waht you said above.

Okay I wanted to get some feedback from you lot. Every Halloween in the Hollow household we pick a horror theme and then usually go about decorating the house and garage, erecting elaborate sets and getting friends over who work in the special effects industry to help out doing some make up's etc. Once all the prep work is done we have a big party for family, neighbors and friends. This year's work is almost done, but I'm planning for next years party and was thinking of hiring some amputees and midgets to make the event visually more dynamic. The film industry uses people like this all the time when they need some one who has lost their limbs or little people. Of course I'd pay them good money to participate, but my wife thinks it's a bad idea and in poor taste. What do you guys and gals think? Exploitation or work opportunity?

It's actually a really good question. I think the best example you could take from is the Howard Stern Show. He's got ALL KINDS of oddities on his show from "little people" to mentally handicapped people. Some say that he exploits these people to make his radio show more entertaining but he's also giving these people an opporunity to do something with their lives, and an outlet to make money.

Many of the oddities that he has on his show find ways to make appearances for the show and appearances in movies and television.

If you want midgets and disabled people to make your Halloween party more dynamic and there are midgets and disabled people looking to WORK Halloween parties than by all means I say go for it!

aside from what your wife might think... what about the people in attendance at your party. what would they think? would they be put off and disgusted?

I'm going to sacrifice kittens, dance naked around a pentagram, listen to heavy metal and play Dungeons & Dragons this Halloween because Satan told me to! Haw haw!

Dude. That's a normal Saturday night at the House of Drakon.

I like how the condemned soul is calling the Pumpkin Headed Demon a RAT
