He would've been 91 today. Thanks for everything Bob.

RIP bob!thanks for all the wonderful years of the dark knight!

thanks to the one man who had no problems with batman being a cold-blooded killer! we love you bob!

To a man who changed so many lives by creating something so beautiful but could have easily been very very very bad, Cheers to you Mr. Kane!
(Just imagine an Owlman or something else that could have flashed in his imagination duriing the creation process.)

... like a domino mask and a red union suit.

RIP Bob Kane.

Your still making money off the clock..... ( I need to figure out how to do that.)

Many great thanks to the man who made a rip-off of Zorro combined with Sherlock Holmes mean something special to us all.

Happy b-day, Mr Kane. Now can your lawyers let Bill Finger´s name be included in the creating credits of Batman?

That does need to happen. Finger was co-creator... gets little credit as is.

Sad.....it really is. You know his lawyers will never....not in a million years....do anything. And, DC Comics refuses to give credit too. Hell, they refuse to give credit to alot of people for alot of the work that got done back then really. They totally screwed over the guys who created Superman.

I do think it's a good thing that people are starting to now learn of this. Robin, from Howard Stern's show actually mentioned it a while back when they were still on radio. So.......it's getting talked about for sure.

I do think that Kane does deserve credit for it though......just not all of it. But, he was part of the reson that the character was created and part of the reason the character hit it big. I mean...he was the artist after all. Just feel bad for Finger.....I mean, they should atleast give him credit for the other stuff, which he did create.....like Commishioner Gordon, Gotham City (ie: New York, but the name was adapted fro the nickname..but he did it....), and practically everything else.

RIP Bob Kane. I got no hate for you, man.

I have no hate for him too. It´s terrible what happened to Finger, but that´s how things worked when they created Batman. Poor Finger never actually asked for the credit. And Kane was an important piece of Batman´s creation too.

It's a shame Bob Kane didn't live to see Batman Begins. He would've been proud to see his creation treated with such reverence and respect. And after his comments about Kilmer being the best Bruce Wayne/Batman, I wonder what he would've said about Bale...

Good post, ChrisBaleBatman. And I agree fully.

We'll never know for sure, but I think Kane would have really liked Bale; probably more than Kilmer.

Is it just me, or was "what's the difference" kind of an uninspired line?

Y'know, I really don't know how to feel about Bob Kane anymore. While I had always echoed ChrisBaleBatman's sentiments, but recently, I've seen all kinds of claims against him ranging from him tracing other artists to even taking the name "Batman" from someone else's character designs.

Now, I don't know how true those claims are. If they are true, I...don't know how to feel about Mr. Kane.

With that said, Happy Birthday, Champ.

The claims—and the arguments that support them—are persuasive.

Rest in peace, Bob! I hope you and Bill Finger have reconciled up there!

Ol' Bob's been dead for six years, sadly. Occurs to me his birthday doesn't matter much to him right now. He's too busy being one with the spiritual collective that we are all carved from.

The collective is the better for his presence. We are the lesser for his absence.

But we have Batman. w00t. Rock on, Bob.

Happy birthday Bob old man!

Wish you were here.

You looked so much like Anthony Quinn and all that...

Happy birthday Bob,

rest in peace, and like someone already said, i hope you and Bill Finger made reconciled up there.
