So Grace just dropped a huge scoop today that tomorrows big DC news will be Birds of Prey related. The lineup is apparently

Harley Quinn, Black Canary, Huntress, Katana, Lady Shiva and Cassandra Cain. Villain is David Cain.

I'd be more than happy with that lineup.

Apparently Margot took the premise from SS2, which is why that movie went back to the drawing board. Can't wait!! Im excited for this film!

My thoughts exactly. Its already a diverse line-up. Though I can see them casting an ambiguous actress for Huntress.

Given Margot's recent comments about making sure the cast is diverse, I definitely see them racebending Canary and Huntress. My guess is black and latina, respectively.

I think they'll keep Black Canary White and blonde though since the vast majority of DC's females have been brunettes so far, Mera and Harley being the exceptions.

Plus looking at the lineup, that's already 4 brunettes, no need to make it 5.

Well technically the original Canary's a brunette. The blonde hair is just a wig. In any case, cream and dark-skinned women with light hair has been a stylistic thing for several years now.

Honestly, they should have cut out Katana and not Babs. Hopefully that gets rectified before the film moves into production.

Not going to lie. I'm surprised Barbara Gordon isn't in this in some form. I thought they might just go with Batgirl since the whole Oracle/ disabled angle can be controversial but this is weird.

Except she's not really needed for a Birds of Prey movie, while Barbara Gordon is. Especially if Harley Quinn (aka the person whose significant other paralyzed Babs in the past) is one of the key players in the film. Katana can easily be added to a sequel film or play a part in Suicide Squad 2. Babs is the team leader/co-founder who has some serious history with Harley/people Harley was close with in the past.

Anyway, apparently Grace got some significant details in the scoop wrong, so be sure to keep an eye out for tomorrow's article.

I don't think it's a coincidence the major Batman characters are absent from this new slate. They're 100% waiting on Reeves to set the baseline for the bat-universe.

Only reason this movie is being made is due to Harley/Margot making it out of SS pretty much unscathed and one of the few highlights.

Cassandra Cain? That's a surprise. So her parents Lady Shiva and David Cain are villains/assassins and she breaks away from them?!?

Maybe it's just personal preference. I don't give a damn about Barbara and not everything has to follow the comics. Marvel sure hasn't and neither did Wonder Woman... Personally thats a damn good line-up, if they absolutely insist on pushing Harley.

Normally I'd be cool with changing things up. Hell, I totally got why Feige and Co. opted to give Tony Stark Hank Pym's role as the creator of Ultron in the MCU, for instance.

But Birds of Prey was kind of a big deal for Barbara after she became paralyzed. Plus if Harley is going to be a big player in this film, it just seems ridiculously counterproductive and even a bit insulting to Oracle fans to not have the film feature some conflict (drama, banter, etc) between Barbara and the woman who is dating/used to date the guy who paralyzed her.

As always with ensembles, there's the risk of some characters being underdeveloped. Based off the rumors, I see a lot of screentime/spotlight going to Harley because $$ and the rest to the Cains.

I hope not. I really want BC and Huntress to get fleshed out and developed properly.
