Harry Potter Book 7 [SPOILERS-ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!]

Okay, I've re-read Deathly Hallows for the third time over the holiday season and I just finished King's Cross. I think I've finally made sense of how Harry survived Avada Kedavra.

Lily's sacrifice gave Harry protection. The protection should have only lasted until he was 17 and left his aunt's home (where it was kept alive through Lily's blood in her). However, when Voldemort took Harry's blood to make his body in year 4, he in turn extended Lily's protection by adding her/Harry's blood to himself. In doing so, Lily's protection ensured that so long as Voldemort was alive, Harry would be tethered to life through him. Therefore Avada Kedavra killed the part of Voldemort's soul, and yet Harry was allowed to live.

Is that an accurate assessment, do you guys think?

Sounds good to me.

You know what the creature in Harry's dream was with Dumbledore...I assumed it was the dying horcrux or the dementedness of Voldermort.

I figured it was the part of Voldemort's soul that was inside Harry.

if they didn't make a film i might of actually read one of these things.

Oh dude, read it. The movies do no justice to the books.

WHAT:wow: Read the books, they are awesome. OOTP is great but it is long so methinks DH is the best followed by OOTP then HBP:o

Interesting, it could have been a horcrux. Would be the first time one was given human qualities/form though

I assumed it was part of Voldemort that he hid in Harry, the horcrux in other words...frail and dying.

This thread just seems out of place. What with the new addition of the Sports forum, why no Literature forum?

Nah, the best is POA, then DH, then OOTP.
POA was too light hearted as it went around deaths but it was the start of things to come that really started off in GOF.

So I would say in order:
1. DH
2. OOTP
3. HBP
4. GOF
5. POA
6. Sorcerer's Stone
7. COS

those are the books, not the movies obviously.

The spell that protected Harry while he was at his aunt's house was cast by Dumbledoor. The magic that Lily infused into Harry, AFAIK, is lifelong. My interpretation of the consequences of the magic infusing Voldie was that it acted as a sort of horcrux for Harry, allowing him the option of returning to the living after ridding himself of the fragment of Voldie's soul.

Not necessarily, the diary was gaining form and human qualities from Ginny pouring so much of herself in there. The locket was also feeding off the negative emotions of whoever wore it and once opened gained form. I thought from the beginning the thing at King's Cross was the part of Voldemort's soul. The screwed up state it's in is because his soul is so fractured and mangled by that point.

I'd say that list is pretty good. Although, I might switch GOF and POA. I didnt care much for GOF, except for Voldemort's return. That part was pretty awesome.

That's my exact list too.

I'll tell you one thing, when this is made into a movie, if "Not my daughter, you b****." is cut, I will get out of my seat, throw down my bucket of popcorn and storm out of the theatre. And then possibly kill the screenwriter and director.
