We got there an hour and a half early and were the third set of people in line and got great seats. The wait was all worth it.

My show starts at 12:40 tomorrow and we're leaving at 10 so we can drop my nephew off at our parents' house and head up to the movie theater in plenty of time. I just got the Harry Potter Scene It game for my iPad so can we play it while we wait on line.

Absolutely loved it. If anything it only makes me angry at the fact that the past three films were far too short.

Im waiting thanksgiving weekend aswell and trust me alot of people will be going when family come's down. Twilight wont stand a chance since harry potter is a flim for everyone imo.

I am pretty sure theaters will be packed thanksgiving weekend as well. So your still not going to avoid the large crowds unless you see it early in the day.

I think they were very fair adaptations of some very long books. I wouldn't have been able to stand waiting for a Part 1 and Part 2 for each... and I know they had considered that for Goblet of Fire, and since Order was meatier yet, I'm sure it would've gotten the same treatment. We could've ended up with, what? Eleven films in the series!? Oi!

Very awesome movie. Perfect pacing, superior acting and pretty much perfect all around. I really don't understand the complaints about the pacing. To me everytime the movie seemed like it might drag the action kicked in.

Really liked it, but I had a lot of nitpicks about it. Since it was much more faithful to the book than the last three movies were, we got a lot more events and characters included that would've been stripped out if they weren't crucial to the plot. Some of the reasons for including them worked, but some like Dobby, Gregorovitch, and Sirius' mirror are barely explained or not explained at all. (That could also be due to the scenes being cut down during editing, because there are several scenes where actors shot cameo roles and they're not in the film at all.)

It's things like that I wish J.K.R. had given the filmmakers more clues to 'not cut this character or event, he/she/it plays a bigger role in the final book' when they were shooting the last three films. But that's J.K.R. for you.

And the scene that really made me wince was the scene in Malfoy Manor -- the one that made both Emma Watson and Helena Bonham Carter uncomfortable during shooting. But both actresses sold it.

Just got back, and I loved it. I mean, it definitely felt like a movie, so phrases like "best of the series" just don't seem like they could even apply yet. So PoA still gets that title. But since DH1 felt like half of a great movie, I'd say it was exactly what it should've been. Bring on Part 2.

Also, that animated sequence was beautiful and unexpected (I've been intentionally avoiding reviews so I had no idea that was coming), so extra kudos to Yates for that rather glorious stylistic touch.

I have to give the fx team a fist bump for Kreacher. He looked remarkably seamless in his scenes talking to the trio in the house.

a lot of the pacing issues people have expressed were the same I had with parts of the book.

Honestly, I know why JKR did that. she stretched it out because she wanted you to feel the need to find the horcruxes, the anticipation, the nerves , everything.

Saw it again tonight, twice as nice

This is true, that would have been too much but some, especially Order should have been longer. Order is only 2 hours 15 minutes, the shortest film while it is the longest book. Makes no sense. And I really really miss the brilliant other Tom Riddle scenes in Half Blood Prince. GoF took out a ton of subplots so I won't even go there.

It's a smal nitpick but the new Dobby took a little getting use to. I have seen the films so many times that they are forever etched into my head and I'm use to Chamber Dobby and you could tell he was different in this film in very small ways. Also the voice actor Toby Jones didn't feel the same either. But like I said, small problems because for the most part he was terrific. Still a shame Dobby was cut out of all of the other films in between this and Chamber but at least he finally got some justice here.

Oh and there were tons of "ooohh's" when Harry and Hermione were naked and macking on each other:woot:

Yates originally had a 3 hour cut of OOTP, WB told him to trim it. Look for a extended edition. Here's a little something for you guys :

I definitely agree with you on the memories that were left out. And your other points are good as well, but I choose to think of them as gems that are left for us and are new for the movie fan that decides they want to read the books. If the films were exactly like books, the books would be a lot less special. Er, maybe.

This is true. At least I'm not one of the annoying fans that yells at the screen when something is different like Doc Jones described:o:woot:

Just got back from the movie and thought it was pretty good. I havent read the books so some of the stuff was kind of out of left field like seeing Ron's oldest brother marrying the French witch from the Goblet of Fire movie.

The only questions I have are:

Had Dumbledore always used the wand made by Death or did they just choose to bury it with his body.

What was with the mirror shard that Harry was carrying around?

The complaints about the pacing have universally come from the camping scenes basically. Then again if you love the whole film you're not gonna feel it dragged. I think the 1st and 3rd act have great pacing but the 2nd does drag to quite a bit.

Dumbledore always used that wand.

It was a gift Siruis gave to Harry in OOTP. Well, it was an entire mirror, but after Sirius died, Harry destroyed it in a fit of rage. But he kept a shard of it. (they didn't put it in the movie though)

Just got back from the theatre, this was alright but kind of weak in the action and death department.

My buddies gf liked it but was *****ing about them changing some things from the book that will heavily alter the next film or just won't make much sense in the long run. I don't get why they would change much considering they have two 2 1/2 hour films made for one book but I don't read them so it's not too big of a deal for me.

I prefer more human emotion and drama then your constant action.

You need to understand the relationships and the way they cope with the situations makes it more engaging.

I dont want a Matrix Revolutions 2 on screen in part 2.

I thought they did a great job with the book so far

Don't mistake me for someone who wants all action in his films. The characters and emotions were great, I enjoyed the film quite a bit and the humour was done well like in a number of the past Potter films. I should have clarified more and said that the movie could have used a bit more action as opposed to being filled with it.

Just got back. Loved it. Movie flew by so fast which means I loved it. I will write up my review later but I will say a few things: did they take a dig at Twilight in the movie? I thought so HAHA. Wished I could have gotten me some more Bill Nighy!

4.5/5
