... where anytime you see any new person on the Hype, you automatically assume it's someone that has already been banned?

Because I sure have. I don't even have to read their posts. I just see that someone new has posted in a preexisting thread and just go "Oh well that's clearly Human Torch" or something.

Most of us have a pretty distinct posting style. Unless they do something similar to what they used to then I don't catch it. :p

I've been here for... years, and I still barely know who anyone is. Maybe if people stopped changing avatars every time a new movie comes out.

Unless you're a friend, a mod or someone who I hate, I probably have no idea who you are.

I mean, just to clarify, it's not like I'm looking at newbies and automatically deducing what banned user they are, but at this point, I'm just so cynical that anytime I see a new face, I have to assume they're some old idiot who's trying to squeeze their way back in without anyone noticing.

I do get suspicious, especially if they gravitate towards hot button topics or the politics section

Yeah, when someone joins a superhero forum only to post in the politics or community sections, it gets a bit suspicious. Logic would suggest that the first thing a person would do upon joining is go post in the movie or TV show section that drew them here (other than maybe introducing yourself in the community section, but that's one post... not jumping into religious or crime debate threads). Everything else gets kinda side-eyed.

Same. And any new member that shows a strong religious evangelism in their posts is immediately suspicious.

Although, it is entertaining when banned users don't even try to hide it, and they create new accounts just to scream in futile rage against everything and everyone. I think many of us remember the Night of 1000 Kevin Smiths. It's good for a cheap laugh, at least.

I am absolutely a new genuine new member and never been banned from here in any previous accts.

There have been a few who I suspect were either someone who was banned or someone trying to slip by under an alias. And a few who it was clear were not new to the board.

I saw a newbie the other day that I could have sworn was Sawyer.

If I remember correctly it took me a bit to even figure out what the community section was. Hype for the Avengers is what got me here. I was really active in the MCU threads for a hot minute. Not so much anymore, at least nowhere as active as I was. If I get banned though I'm gonna come back and just post tons of articles in the community section that way nobody wi ever suspect that I'm back

I still think that the influx of new users (like me) are to do with the fact that were currently living in the "Superhero renaissance" were from now till 2019 and above we'll have more than 5 superhero films a year.

It's a great time to be a superhero fan. :woot:

:sly: Maybe YOU are the problem, Sawyer. Ever think about that? You should.

TOTALLY with you here jokes,
especially considering that SHH is a better place THAN RPF ( since it has gone downhill with moron mods in charge)
and our people are a lot more frendlier than the *censored* RUNNING the place.
