1. Taken off work or school to attend a comic book movie's opening day?

None. Why take a day off from the cinema to go to the cinema?

2. Gone to the midnight screening of a comic book movie?

Never heard of such a thing. I see movies before release anyway.

3. Watched/taped/Tivo'ed some show you didn't care about b/c they'd promised to run a comic book movie trailer?

Never heard of TV shows promising to play particular trailers.

4. Hoped beyond hope to catch a comic book movie trailer while waiting for a non-comic movie to start?

Nah, I already know what's on the trailer list and quite often I run my screen tests with no trailers anyway.

5. Searched the lobby of your local theater for comic book movie posters?

No, I try to stay off the floor as much as possible. I go through to reach the office and that's about it.

6.Watched a comic book movie on cable even though you already had the DVD?

Cable? Hmm, translates to Sky... so, no I don't believe I have.

7. Watched multiple behind-the-scenes specials about a particular comic book movie?

This would be on TV? People still watch TV?

8. Read both the comic adaptation AND the novelization?

Don't think so.

What a strange quiz.

What a strange quiz.
Obviously, working in a theater has skewed your ability to answer these questions.

Everytime. One time, I called my boss for X-Men 2. Told him, I was throwing up what looked like body parts and had to get to the hospital immediately. Then when I'm walking out of the movie, I run into him at the concession stand. I told him that I felt better.

I never lied about it. I just used a vacation day, which I did 3 times.

9. Obtained/attempted to obtain a poster or other comic movie memorabilia through illicit means? This would include:
Stealing a poster off the side of a bus, train platform, etc.
Begging/bribing/sweet-talking a theater employee.
Doing the same w/a Blockbuster employee to get the one on display.

9. Tried bribing for a Hellboy poster like I said and recently "came into possession" of the TIH poster with Bruce in front and Hulk's back in the back.

1. Taken off work or school to attend a comic book movie's opening day?

Not that I recall.

2. Gone to the midnight screening of a comic book movie?

This has happened a few times ... Spider-Man 2, and The Dark Knight.

3. Watched/taped/Tivo'ed some show you didn't care about b/c they'd promised to run a comic book movie trailer?

Oh yes. Most definately! This is something I've been doing since the mid 1990's really. And I'm quite sure I have some old VHS tapes around here somewhere with trailers taped from E!'s "Coming Attractions". Which was my source for trailers before the internet.

4. Hoped beyond hope to catch a comic book movie trailer while waiting for a non-comic movie to start?

Yes. I remember recently hoping the "Watchmen" trailer would be be shown the first time I checked out "The Dark Knight" .... and it was. :yay:

5. Searched the lobby of your local theater for comic book movie posters?

Eh, not really. If so, cool. If not, oh well.

6.Watched a comic book movie on cable even though you already had the DVD?

I've done this before, but it's not very often.

7. Watched multiple behind-the-scenes specials about a particular comic book movie?

Yup. I tend to make a point in checking out the HBO "First Look" on anything comic book related. And whatever else that might pop up on whatever channel.

8. Read both the comic adaptation AND the novelization?

Batman 1989, Batman Forever, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, HULK, The Incredible Hulk, Daredevil, and Superman Returns.

Through illicit means? No. And really, the only time I have ever been successful in obtaining any memorbilia from a theater was back when Mars Attacks was making it's theatrical run. I asked the theater owner that if no one wanted the Mars Attacks banner, I would absolutely love to have it. About a month later, they called and had it ready to go.

Batman 1989, Batman Forever, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, HULK, The Incredible Hulk, Daredevil, and Superman Returns.

Interesting. You seem to have done more than anybody else here. As for me:
1-X-Men, Spider-Man, Daredevil & X3. (I was already off when Batman Begins & FF opened.)
2-Spider-Man 2 & 3.
3-many times. The one I remember most vividly was taping "The Apprentice" in order to get the Spidey 2 trailer. I also did the "Coming Attractions" thing.
4-Always. Especially if it's a movie I really don't want to see but have been dragged to by my lady and/or kids.
5-Every year.
6-Pretty often, sometimes to my frustration.
7-Whenever possible. Be it some stupid MTV special, HBO first Look or an elaborate documentary on Sci-Fi, I can't get enough.
8-Whenever possible.
9-Not successfully. For this I blame the idiots who were stealing the Jim Carrey Riddler posters back in '95. I think this was the main thing that tipped off the studios that there was a demand for original marketing posters, hence there was money to be made. Prior to this, the theater/Blockbuster employees didn't care what you did as long as you didn't trash the place.

I did the same exact thing as well. :woot:

Yeah, speaking of MTV. I remember recording MTV's Hulk special back in 2003 for the Ang Lee film on VHS, as well as Sci Fi Channel's special hosted by Sam Elliott and Josh Lucas. Though I have to say the MTV special was a bit better. Due to it's look back at Hulk's history thru the comics, Bixby/Ferrigno series, and even the animated series. Peter David discussing the theme song for the 1960's toon was hilarious. Thankfully, I was able to transfer these to DVD upon purchasing a DVD recorder.

I have yet to transfer mine. I need to go ahead & do that. Most of my stuff is all on one tape, except for the WTC Spidey trailer.

Yeah, that's one I had to search for on the net, and then transfer to DVD.

Same goes for Thomas Jane's Punisher teaser.

I think I still have that one; you mean the one where his hair was still blond & the t-shirt was all clean & pristine?

That's the one.

I recall seeing it for the first time when I went and saw "Matrix Reloaded" back in '03, and up until last year, had not seen it since. Thankfully, someone on Youtube posted it.

oh yeah! me and my friend was walking downtown in vegas in this really bad neigborhood. my boy needed to buy some cigarettes at this crummy 7-11. we were heavly inebriated. when i spy the life size Iron Man slurpee standee in the corner. After hagling for about 20 mins with the clerk that wanted a little under the table pocket change. i give the dude $30 and walk out with it down this rotten street .My boy was laughing his butt off he fell over. My girl loves it. It now resides in a place of honour in my garage.
That's a true story.

Oh, here's one-purposely gone to a movie you didn't really care about just to catch the superhero trailer you knew accompanied it.
