Hawkeye Hawkeye General Discussion Thread

Makes sense. Now I guess the finale will air on 12/22 and the following week 12/29 will be the premiere of Boba Fett (instead of having both the finale and premiere of two major franchises airing on the same day)
These trailers do nothing for me but hey that's life.

Yea I don't think there's gonna be overlap for Ms. Marvel and Boba Fett either. Before it seemed possible given when Boba Fett was gonna air but now it definitely seems Disney doesn't want to overlap even 1 episode of the MCU and Stars Wars shows (live action anyway). For the time being anyway...I can't imagine this will stick given all the content both companies have lined up in the pipeline.

but how will this work with Ms. Marvel (probably 6), Andor (12 confirmed), She Hulk (10 confirmed), Obi Wan (6-8), Moon Knight (probably 6), Mando Season 3 (8), Secret Wars (probably 6) and also Werwolf by night and Guardian Holiday special (both only one episode)
That’s 65 weeks for all SW and Marvel projects in 2022
They WILL overlap sooner or later

Little note: Its good to see Linda Cardellini show up here, so no ugly divorce offscreen, which was my fear here.

Well for one, you're assuming all those Marvel shows are coming out in 2022. While it's a safe bet most of them will, Marvel has not come out with actual confirmed released dates for any of those projects. Also the show creator for What If stated recently in an interview, that it's very much possible season 2 for What If will air next year. If that does indeed happen, I could see maybe Secret Invasion getting bumped to 2023.

Again this is all my speculation, I could end up being wrong. And like I said before, I can't imagine it will be like this forever either. It's inevitable that at some point they will overlap.

If they eventually overlap, I think they should do Marvel releases on Wednesdays and Star Wars releases on Fridays (or vice-versa). But if they choose not to do that then I think it will also depend on popularity. They probably won't want anything overlapping with Mandalorian or Obi-Wan Kenobi because those are essentially big event series. But I don't see them sweating it if something like Andor overlaps with a Marvel show if it's supposed to have a 12 episode run since it's not like that character has a particularly large fanbase compared to Obi-Wan or Boba Fett anyway.

Looks like fun, cant wait for this. Looks like a lot of things from the comics brought over.

I hardly disagree. It was my fear number #1 with all this series announced that we have to see them in.. forever. Why should Disney let them overlap there AAA series? They will push back series like Ms Marvel recently.

So what makes you not sleep at night? That you can‘t watch two shows on the same day, when they get released?
Also like others say: One on Wednesdays and one on Fridays - where‘s the problem?

The problem is that it makes no sense that Disney burn 300 Mio USD between six weeks, if they can do it for 150 Mio USD. Subscribers will stay as long one AAA series will releases weekly, in my opinion.

I don’t see them ever overlapping a Marvel series with a Star Wars series since they’re considered premium content but they do overlap with Disney original series. With all those series that @Albright mentioned above, I think some of them has to get delayed to 2023.

No, I don’t think Secret Wars will get delayed to 2023, because they already said it leads to The Marvels. Armor Wars and Iron Heart on the other hand will probably get delayed until 2023

Well if IATSE strikes on Monday, everything after No Way Home will probably be pushed back anyways, including Secret Invasion and The Marvels

Why do you keep referring to Secret Invasion as Secret Wars? And as far as I've seen, they have not said it leads into The Marvels.

There is nothing wrong if new episodes for D+ originals overlap. Disney+ is ordering more and more shows, so its inevitable. NetfliX has been doing that (launching new shows almost every week/new episodes overlapping with other shows) for several years now. As long as the shows don't cannibalize each other, then I don't see any problem. The winner here is D+ subscribers, that would get more than 1 show airing new episodes per week.

Neither did I. It could give the MCU version of Maya Lopez an enhanced leg with super strength to go along with photographic memory and that will be cool. Bucky has a bionic arm that gives him even more enhanced strength
I doubt they'd ever go that route. For Bucky they essentially made him lose his arm as an excuse to give him a cool mechanical arm. But in this case the actress herself is actually missing part of her leg. In my experience disabled people tend to prefer not having their real disability turned into a superpower. Plus with anything that involves Echo they're bound to have a bunch of disability consultants advising against doing that as well.

Its good news for me, that this is now a five week series instead of siX weeks. As I prefer shorter series (shorter meaning I only have to stay tuned for new episodes for five weeks instead of siX to 24 weeks), especially if its going to be like the previous D+ Marvel live action series; that IMO could have been easily tweaked as 120 to 150 min. feature film. And The new TV spot didn't convince me, that Hawkeye is going to be different.

For MCU standard this is an unique poster, while I think it looks a little bit empty.
