I've watched all except the last 2 episodes today lol ten in a row. Damn lol

Yeah i've been in Breaking Bad mode the last couple months that i've also sort of lost track of where we've left off in Boardwalk.

I actually find it a little strange that Boardwalk doesn't seem to get anywhere near the press that BB does? I'd say quality wise it's right up there or beyond it actually in a few aspects, like having stronger side-characters imo.

pretty entertaining season premiere, though didn't really go anywhere plot wise

best part was no Margaret

Richard shooting that dude in the face was ****ing brutal

So many people getting shot in the face on TV this week. BUT, Richard's numerous face-shootings certainly weren't the most brutal thing to happen this episode.

I loved how the dopey rookie turned out to be sharper than he looked.

It's nice to see Billy still having an effect on Nucky.

I like Richard's house.

Was that couple playing a regular game of theirs, where she seduces someone and he pretends to catch them, then makes him finish with her?

Nice little reset/re-pilot, they sort of needed that with all of the shakeups last season to the statuesque. I miss Richard being so awesome, love that guy. I love the minor character call backs, nods to changes growth. Plus, the period aspect was beautiful once again. It's going to be a fun year...

If so, it didn't really work out for them this time :lmao:

They are ramping the tension between Chalky and Pernsley up again. Showdown before the season is over.

Episode seemed kind of directionless to me.

It did kind of feel that way, but I don't think it was. While the episode itself didn't really have a self-contained point, it did introduce a lot of new plot threads and continue some others. This episode was like seed planting, nothing amazing happened right now but we'll see the pay off in time.

I was just sad we didn't get to see Van Alden/Iron Man, especially after they showed him in the "Previously on" introduction.

I agree with the seed planting...

There wasn't anything that stoodout as to where the show will go direction wise but lots and lots of seeds planted.

- Chalky being a bigger player in the city with the club along with tension with his right hand man.
- Capone making a name for himself in Chicago
- Nucky being in the shadows while still running things
- Richard going "home"
- Meyer and AR seemingly being together while Lucky is with Masseria (subplots within itself)
- AR being pissed over his being screwed by Nucky last season
- Still no Margaret nor VanAlden

I hope this show lasts long enough to get to Rothstein's and Masseria's murders and Luciano taking over everything.

Interesting opening to the season.

I really like Purnsley as a character, and I'm glad that he was so upset to the point of murder by the couple's demeaning little game, rather than playing it as a "aw shucks whatever as long as I get to have me a white woman" cliche. Chalky and even Nucky better be careful not to underestimate him.

Gillian as a hooker and drug addict is exactly the kind of direction that might make the character worth watching again, but it looks like they're going with the usual "Gillian latches onto a man for her own ends" crap.

Capone family look like they are going to be entertaining as hell but I'm not with the rest of you on Rothstein; I'm starting to feel bored by him. Hopefully something happens to actually rattle him and make him interesting again.

I'm glad Richard is back with his sister but I'm not sure I like him being so isolated from the overall storyline.....again (though, admittedly, he did provide one of the highlights of last season once he did join the central plot by unknowingly doing Nucky a favour by decimating Rosetti's crew).

All in all a solid start with a lot of interesting little treads.

I like Rothstein. Hope he doesn't get killed.

That's four and a half years away, so hard to say if the series will ever get that far.

I was surprised they mentioned Woodrow Wilson's death, but not Harding's given the big role the Harding administration had in the first three seasons.

I didn't watch the show last night- anyone wanna give a rundown?

I have to say I really enjoyed the Dr.Narcisse character. I think he's a good antidote to the loud and obnoxious Gyp Rosetti.

Also I love the Marcus Garvey influences on him.

It's probably irrelevant in the end. It's obvious he mainly uses the title to impress people with his stature. I doubt he's a medical doctor though. I can picture a scene where chalky's doctor future son in law tries to talk up some medical knowledge and Narcisse quickly changing the subject.

Great episode last night... love the development of the good doctor and the rise of Meyer Lansky with the hard road for AR
