I always thought Eddie was the reverse Alfred until this episode, he got some great character development. I've always liked him ever since season 1.
Me, too, lol. He holds up well under Nucky's abuse. :p

Great news! The season finale should kick @$$!

I wonder if Season Four will be the last? I hope not, this show is so good. And I hope they don't get rid of too many characters in the finale this upcoming Sunday.

Well I'd say Gillian and Gyp are likely to go. As a possible tragedy factor, I could see Timmy getting caught in the crossfire and ending the ****ed up Darmody gene pool for good. Richard already has another reason to live now in his new gf. On the flipside, she might end up as the tragic death instead of Timmy. I can also see Eli as a possible candidate for retirement, though not quite as much a tragedy there(I'd still miss him though).

If Tommy dies that would absolutely destroy Richard, Julia or no Julia. I mean Tommy's the reason that he's about to go rambo on the Brothel for.

Fair chance that Eli will bite the dust though. I have a feeling Nucky will have to do some considerable recruiting by the time this war is over.

i can definitely see Eli getting killed. probably at an attempt to redeem himself to Nucky after what happened last season. but i hope that's not the case. i'd rather he just get badly hurt or something, like Eddie.

Wow I love all 3 of those movies (especially Gone...). Season 4 will be the best season yet I bet.

What do you see his reaction being to the other scenario then? Would Tommy living be enough to keep him afloat if Julia died?

My guess is that Eli will die, and that his son will become the new Jimmy / Owen.

I don't think Nucky would allow that. I don't see him forgetting the lesson he learned with Jimmy.

Chalky knew Gyp's talk about everything staying the same was complete bull. Even though they don't always get along, Chalky knows Nucky treats them better than most would.

Probably more like "the Devil you know" vrs "the Devil you don't", lol.

Things are looking up for the fourth season with the addition of Lehane & Pelecanos, Lehane's an excellent author and both their works in The Wire is great, ****'s always goes down in almost every episode Pelecanos has penned for Wire, I'm so excited for the prospect.

I see Nucky's rise/return to power being somewhat marred by the fact he's going to owe both Chalky and Al Capone big after Gyp is out of the way. He won't be as powerful or as free to do as he likes come the end of this season, me thinks.

So is the consensus that Richard won't die? I'm really worried he's going to, but I'd really like him to have a happy ending. I feel like this will be the character's last episode regardless. He either dies, or he survives, takes Tommy and Julia and lives happily ever after. With everything else going on, I really think the show could use that positive outcome for him. I hope it happens.

I really, really hope he lives. He's one of the best characters on the show. I'm not sure where his Travis Bickle-style rampage will lead but I hope he lives.

Richard better stay on. I really like seeing the perspectives of WW1 vets who are rarely depicted in american media.

Jimmy was a great example of his generation and so is harrow. A guy like nucky was a product of the older generation which is why its also great seeing capone come into his own.

I think it'd be a big mistake to get rid of Richard. And only a season after Jimmy. Jimmy and Richard are my favorite characters. And the writers have to know how much fans these two got. I can't tell you how many times I've seen Home. My favorite episode, so far, no doubt.

Just to clarify (maybe i misread you and you already know; if so, i apologize, said with nothing but the best intention) but he is the novelist whose books this movies are based on, not the screenwriter and adapter. :)

Richard better live...He will go mass killing probably because the little kid or Julia dies....I really hope Julia lives. If they give Harrow his happy ending that means they will write him off the show...I dont know how I feel about that because I love Harrow.

His presence to me is becoming like Omar from The Wire...The cool lone ranger who leaves a sick impression.

Next season we for sure will see:
More Chalky with his club
Capone running things
Nucky rebuilding
Margaret needs to die so not sure if she will/Probably not

Man, I hope this show has at least 6 seasons. Like The Sopranos. I've been reading Five Families and some cool stuff happens in the late 20s/early 30s. I wonder if they will have any more time spaces, like how this season is one year from the end of Season Two. I want to see how the writers will kill off some of the people/how they write people to come into power.

Yeah it needs to last up until the first couple years of the Great Depression where prohibition was abolished.

Looks like Richard goes postal next ep!
